Removing 2" body lift...
I just bought my 2000, complete with a 2" front-end coil spacer (leveling), and 2" body lift (box and cab). The previous owner had 315/75/16 tires on it (16 x 9.5? AR wheels) so he needed it lifted. In order for it to fit into my garage with my rack mounted on the box, I have to take it back to stock wheels and remove the lift (cheaper than converting my garage to a 8' door). Can anyone tell me the part number or specs for the original bolts on the cab and box? I have 4 cab bolts left over from my '99 when I installed the steps -- I assume the 2000 uses the same size so I can easily find two more. Does the box use the same size as the cab? Any help would be appreciated.
I've already replaced the wheels with stock 5-spoke wheels and 247/75/16 Mich. tires. The dealer wanted $3.60 per lug nut so I bought after-market lugs from NAPA for $1.29 each. While looking for the center caps, a local hub-cap shop mentioned that the caps will not work with ANY after-market lug nuts (stock caps or after-market) -- don't fit tight enough to stay on. Anyone else encounter this? Any other suggestions on a cap to cover up the lugs and axle hub?
Thanks,
Franklin
