Really? The point is that the corvette kits you speak of are at least 3X the price of the STS kit that we are talking about... You can't really compare the two.

I wasn't comparing the sts kit to the vette kit. I was comparing your brother's ls1 kit to the vette. You can't beat the price of the sts kit. I just think you could mount it a little closer to the engine.

Sts is about 10 miles from my house and I have raced a viper against a ls1 camaro with the turbo, all I can say is that it certainly does work. I think its very innovative and fresh thinking. I am looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

I don't doubt it works maybe not as efficient as most peoplelike but hey the exhuast gasses were going out anyways

but I tihnk someting needs to be done with the air intake ..... maybe mount the air cleaner up in the trunk where it's protected from the lements a bit more

I highley doubt this

would work well in a situation like this

even a heavy rain out on the highway would make me worried about sucking in water and destroying my engine

I think that with the right layout for the turbine this stuff could also be quite efficient. There are turbines that do rely more on delta P than on delta T, usually they are used on really big dieels as secondaries that supply power to generators or compressors (talking about ships here)
I think the lag won't be as bad since the gassers need the help at high revs when the degree of cylinder fill decreases due to cam timing etc. (at least for stock n/a gassers) Just adding up pressure there and not low down should be a rather elegant way to circumvent the usual pinging problems by just keeping the max torque until redline and therefore producing massive power. I do think that the positioning of the air filtter is somewhat suboptimal, but if it's possible it would be nice to see this combined with a ram air intake from the front (water separation should be feasible on the long length to go and maybe a big flat heat radiating intercooler for the charge air.
The truth is on the dragstrip, the dyno, the gas station and the repair shop if something goes wrong...

I thought the background look familar on those video clips. I use that same strip down by utah lake to test my new mods out... crazy. Hard to believe they are getting 7-8psi through that long of intake tube. but without an intercooler i guess its possible. I'll have to start looking under the bumpers of some of these cars around town now before i punk them at a light...

a guy that lives here is a dealer for sts.i regularly talk with him at the track.it is a weird lookin system, but,it does work.his personal 2000 chevy 1500,swb,2wd,with street tires runs consistent 8.70`s thru the eighth.this is with 4 lbs boost .2.0 60ft`s,5.80 330ft`s,at 83 mph.all he has on the truck is the program that goes with the charger and a different con.he ran 9.80`s before the charger was added.so thats over a full second gain thru the eighth..................bama
