Rear Proportioning Valve
I've been having some brake issues and just read a post mentioning this. Where is it and what does it look like?
I've seen aftermarket ones, but have not seen on on my truck.
Thanks

You mean the ride-height sensing valve for the rear brakes?
An old TSB for your truck replaces it with a flexible brake line if your normal curb weight is close to max.
On my truck, it accelerated front pad wear (but I still have the original shoes inside the drums after 250K miles ).

I had issues with brakes also, when i was on ice the back brakes would not catch. I read about lengtining the propertioer rod 1", works great now, you can actually feel the back catch now. Lot safer.

I believe he is referring to the Proportioning Valve located in the Combination Valve that is on the front driver side fender.
Proportioning Valve and Load Proportioning Valves are two different things. Do our trucks even have a Load Proportioning Valve?

I just found out today that my 12v has one of those. The rod was disconnected and the lever on the valve was just hanging as far down as it could go. Maybe thats why the brakes never felt as good as those on my dually. Is this valve a 4x4 thing, or a 2500 thing? My 2wd 3500 doesn't have one.

My 99 4X4 3500 Dually doesn't have one either. Just the Proportioning Valve up front I believe. Maybe they only put it on certain years?, hmmmm

The TSB called for replacing them with a brake hose on high GVW Rams - 2500HD (8800#) for sure, and I would assume the 3500s as well... but you never know with Dodge.
