Really, I want the same setup!
Hi.
I have been thinking a lot that how I can get 37-38" tires in my dually without massive spacers on the rear and out of the bodyline rear tires.
I have been drooling this one for a long time.
http://www.fourwheeler.com/featuredv...odge_ram_3500/
I have 4½" lift kit on my garage too, but I dont want to install it until I have new rims and tires.
I want the same look than he has but with the 3rd gen 17" dualie wheels.
What has he done to those? Does he only use stock hub caps and has he chromed widened stock rims? Those look so good. How wide those rims should be that I can get 12.5" tires on them?
I have been thinking BFG AT 37",37" Nittos or maybe 37-38" TSL Swampers but I dont know how those last two lasts on the streets.
So, what do you guys suggest? I dont want out of the bodyline sticking tires(I have 2" flares and spacers on the back and enough room in on the front.) and expensive aftermarket rims.
You can check my pics on the gallery and decide what would be the best look for my truck.
Thank you!

that truck looks awesome, but i love the blue color of your truck much better, if my truck is ever wrecked or repainted its getting the intense blue like yours!
anyway what that guy did was have a rim shop widen the stock wheel, and all they really have to is widen the wheel on the "deep dish" side of the wheel, that way when sandwiched together in the rear you keep the same distance between the two inner beads of the rims. the problem you are gonna have is finding a tire that will work. TSL's are the only tire that i know of that will come in a tire that tall and that narrow. you are gonna need something less than 11" wide for the rear

Well I have 285/75 R16 (11.3") on it now.
I'm considering of buying Z06-LITE:s 3rd gen 17" drw 6 wheel set with tires, hub caps and simulators. And I was thinking 37x12.5" BFGoodrich All-Terrains on them with modified 4.5" tuffcountry lift kit(4.5" skyjacker front coil springs instead of spacers).
But I dont know what kind offset those rims has and are those going to fit under my truck, especially in the rear with 2" spacer.
All I can do is to ask it here, because I'm the only one for sure who is building lifted dually with 3rd gen rims and 37" tires in here.
I have never even seen other 4x4 dually in the roads here(and I mean 4x4 dually, not only dodge..

I think with a 4.5" lift kit you'll be fine with 37's or a true 38. I ran 6" an 39.5's and still had room for more. Also people run 35's with no lift. As for the spacers on the dually, I don't know that one because I've never had a dually. That is a sick looking truck though.

there is a 3rd gen 4x4 dually around here that is runnning 35x12.50 baja claws on stock rims with just a 2" spacer in the rear (no lift). it looks good but rear tires stick out of the fender about 2" and it sounds like you dont want that

A friend of mine has an 01 with 35" X 12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ's with a 4 1/2' skyjacker lift and 2" spacers in the rear. The only problem is when he hooks a gooseneck to it the rear tires rub. I will get some pics asap.

That would be awesome, if you have opportunity to take some photos.
What kind of loads are we talking about when the duals are rubbing? And I suppose 3rd gen 17" has different offset maybe?
Here goosenecks are illegals and max bed weight is about 4000lbs

Erska, that V10 dually looks wild I'd love to lift mine too, but like somebody else said, I'd have trouble towing my 5er then.
Your front fender flares make your trucl look more menacing ! Where'd ya get 'em, and in the one pic of your Buckstop, it looks like the flares go over the front of the door seam....any interference there?

the BFG AT's in 37x12.5x17 are actually only 36" tall. something that has me rather upset since I really wanted to run them. I have 11" wide by 39" tall military tires I run with a skyjacker 4.5" lift so theres room. I dont know if it would help at all with your dully problem but I lifted the back up an aditional 1-2" since I dont like leveling lifts. I'm trying to find a 37-39" tire that lasts a while has good road maners and good in the rain and rocks in the snow if you have any ideas.
