realisticly how much more power is safe?

I have a stock auto tranny and i'm running 38's on 7" of lift with 3.55 stockers. Performance wise i have opened the exhaust to straight 5"stacks, added a superchip programmer, and just ordered a Volant air intake. I'm just curious how much more power would be safe to add to my current setup and what would be the best long term investment. Also i'm getting gauges from my wife for my birthday so they'll be here in a week or so too!! Any help is greatly appreciated!!

love to see those clutch packs. How often do you even get to use your OD. 4.10s or 4.56's are in your future to get to the optimal operating range again

callum,
I'm not sure how much HP the superchips programmer added, but I think it would be safe to say you're pushing your luck (tranny wise),,,, especially with those big tires and the 3.55's.
I was able to slip the converter on mine after adding the EZ. After adding the tranny mods to mine, I've got NO problems and will probably move on to adding injectors (EDM 1.5's or 2's) that will still work with the stock turbo when towing the 5er.
A good TQ, VB and raising the line pressures should definitely be your next step, depending on how the rest of the trans looks. JMO,,,,,,,,

If you come on up to the Claremont CTD Round-Up in VA next month, there should be quite a few knowledgable folks to give ya some good advice!

Someone will chime in with the website soon, I dont know what it is. I have pretty much the same combo as you (tirewise). Its time to do some gears. I had 3.54s also and I swapped to 4.10s and made a world of difference.

I upgraded to an ATS Stage V setup and love it. When the guy changed out the tranny he said there were severe heating marks from the clutch slipping. I hated to change out a tranny with only 29k miles but I would have hated more for it to fail in the middle of nowhere and I would be stuck.

4.10's should be fine. I turn 2000RPM @ 74 MPH. My truck will easily do more than 100MPH on 37's. How much more, I'm not willing to find out. Not with 37" Swampers.

My stock trans lasted 170K, I got rid of it because I burnt the lock up clutch out of the TC. It was a good excuse to get a BOMBed trans. Over 100K was pushing ~290-300HP to 37's.

4.10's installed should cost you around $500/axle. Turn the line pressure up on your trans and run it 'til it dies.
