Re:: 3GSK

My local deisel shop says that putting 3GSK in the truck, he finds that most of them are harder to start in his experience.. Has anybody else found this.??

not true.....

its the outter spring that controls the top end rev limit... the inner springs are what controls fueling down low, so starting wouldnt be affected.

Uke:

Good to hear the truck is still running and you are thinking of some mods.

The only thing I can think of is that when some change the springs it drops the idle and then you need to press on the skinny pedal some for quicker starting. If you measure the height of the stud above the retaining plate and put it back where you found it, it shouldn't change the idle at all. If it does, then reset the idle. I just swapped out a set last night, measured twice and the idle didn't change at all.

That's the only thing I can think of. Let us know how big your smile is after you get a plate a the 3K kit.

yep hes probably referring to the drop in idle some trucks produce.Like the other guys said ,you just have to adjust the idle at the back of the pump afterwards

Thanks, yup, my idle is too slow even now. If I hit the pedal quick & let up, especially in gear, the truck dies, so I got to speed it up some.. I notice if I step on the fuel pedal just a bit it starts faster, than if I don't push on the skinny..
Hey Winey, I'll shore let you all know how it performs.. I'll be hooking on to the 5th wheel camper Oct 22, for our annual trek to South Texas.. Not many steep hills, but a few that will be a good test for the Dodge. Killed the Dowel pin, so that's a big load off my mind. Guages are working good.. What should my Tranny temp run at when the truck is loaded.. Our camper is 12,300 empty..
