Re:rated "e"
295's will fit on 8" rims. I have been looking at Nitto 305/70-16's on the stock wheels. I have seen a few and they look great! Ideal width is 9" but close enough for me. And they are 'E' rated to boot.

I would not recommend going to a tire rated less than original equipment. You may find 'D' rated tires that have higher capacity, but 'E' rated rubber came on our trucks for a reason.

Many will disagree, but that's just the opinion of one guy.

ASk the tire shops what they recommend and draw your own conclusions.

fishin to deep, thanks for your 2 cents.could,nt agree more,"e rates are on there for a reason".throw on a camper,or load of wood or rock your talking heat buildup,i,d like some ply,s.another concern i have since i also have 3.55 auto is taller tires putting us out of rpm range,i do alot of town driving, but always click off the overdrive.also tote about 6,000 pounds of boat around. i know thats not alot, but on the mountain passes up here in the n.w its enough to let you know its back there, have concerns of killing my gear ratio.but love full wheel wells.
