has anybody run this set up sounds real good on paper but how does it perform .Do you think it's better than the fass system ? Looks to be the answer to our fueling problems

I have been running one for about 30k now. There are literally only 2 things that can go wrong with it. The belt can break which can be replaced in literally less than 5 minutes. The second potential problem is the front seal could leak. Mine actually did start to leak due to the fact (I think) that I put the belt on too tight. I didnt think it was too tight until I talked to the vendor when it started leaking. He informed me how loose it should be and mine was not that loose. My pump was replaced no questions asked. If I recall it comes with a 5 year warranty. It is odd at first to start seeing your fp go up as rpms increase. It makes no noise and has an automatic failover to the stock lift pump. It also retains the stock filter and fuel heater. Some think that is good others do not.
Obviously I felt it was better than the FASS or AIRDOG (mainly because there are less points of failure and the auto failover to the stock pump) but also obviosuly others feel different.
Not to say that the FASS or AIRDOG are not good pumps as they seem to be very viable alternatives as well

The rasp can be plug and play. The pump kit comes with everything but the plumbing needed for the install. However Olee Poole of www.powerbypoole.com has a complete plumbing kit and I mean complete. If I recall the only thing I had to buy was some diesel rated pipe dope for a couple of fittings that require it most of them do not. It had everything needed for the install. He even made a harness for me. His harness may or may not be supplied with his plumbing kit now (the harness goes from the stock lift pump wiring plug to the hobbs pressure switch). The harness you just plug in otherwise you just have to splice the wires which is no big deal. A quick call to him would tell you. I bought my pump from DTT they are the master distributor. They did not have a complete plumbing kit at the time (they may have one now they said they were working on one) and I told them I was going to purchase Olee's plumbing kit and they said they would take care of it for me and they did. I purchased the pump from them and they got the plumbing for me from Olee because they have earned as much business from me as they can give me.
I just checked Olee's website he has just the pump kit, just the plumbing kit, and a complete pump and plumbing kit. He sells the harness seperately it looks like. Olee's plumbing kit replaces all the fittings (with AN type) and hoses from the tank to the vp44.
As far as install it is not hard. Just a bit daunting when you look at all the parts spread out on the table. But the directions are fairly clear and there is really nothing hard about it and took no special tools. It took me about 8 hours to do the job. It would have taken much less more like 4 or 5 if I had not been interupted so many times and for so long. Had several sets of company that were staying the weekend come over so I had to stop and greet each set for a while then eat dinner with them and all that. Now that I have done one I think I could do one in 3 hours. If you go the RASP route just make sure and keep the two check valves seperate and dont get them mixed up they should be marked mine were but black marker rubs off easily when your hands have diesel fuel on them. Also keep them in a plastic baggy or something until you install them to keep any dirt out of them.
I wrote up some I think decent install instructions when I did the install. If you want them let me know and I will see if I can find them and email them to you. They just include some clarification in the parts of the instructions that werent so clear and some additional tips that DTT and Olee told me about the install that werent in the instructions as well as a plumbing diagram fro Olee's kit.
