Ran on dyno over the week end

I put my truck on a dyno for the first time this week end. I made 510hp/1250ft-lbs. I am pleased but now I know what I have and need more.

Well the numbers that I just reported were off the sheet with all of the numbers. There were a bit higher than the front sheet. The guy running the dyno said that the computer averages or rounds the numbers and that you should go off the list on the second sheet.

Hey,

Off topic but I just put a comp box on my dad's truck and haven't tapped the wire because of warrenty. Does the bd pump cover solve this problem. If the vp goes bad just switch it back to the stock ocver and send it in right?

The pump cover makes it alot harder to find the "wire tap" part of things, but the electronics in the pump will still give it away.

Why is that? Does the cover cut into something?

Randy, your peak HP and peak TQ occur only 200 rpm apart?

To me, that says dyno operator error or truck in need of tuning....

All Of The Runs That Day Were Automatic Trucks. All Were In 3rd Gear, Tcc Lockup And A Dead Pull, No Spikes, No Shifts. I Must Say Myself That The Dyno Did Seem Tight. The Dyno Operator/owner Was Used To Drag Gas Cars. I Have Thought About The Same Thing. It Was However, An Eddie Current, Mustang Dyno, If That Is How You Spell That. A Fun Day, And A Lot Of Thunder On The Rollers Guys.
It Was Hard To Do An Auto Truck Without It Wanting To Downshift.

With a larger turbo your waitng for spool-up wile in your peak torque range, the peak torque you see in the graph is really where the turbo reached full boost, but it was aready on it's way down off the turque curve. Larger turbos hurt torque numbers on an inertia dyno.

The pump cover actually runs a small allen screw into the circuit board, if you know what to look for you can see it. But I think if they test the pump after you remove the wire tap there is still some tattletales stored in the pumps electroncs, the dealer might not find it, but cummins/DC probably will
