Radio button on steerin wheel-mystery switch

Has anyone made one of the radio switches on the steering wheel work as there mystery torque converter lock up switch? That is what I am thinking of doing. My radio is aftermarket and those buttons don't do anything now. I was also wondering which one might work and where to find the wire for it and what color the wires are?

Id say they would not work as you need a 2 position switch or a push on/push off button. AFAIK none of those buttons serve that purpose. They are all singular momentary switches from what I remember on friends trucks (I dont have them).

the one in the center of the left side is a push button one. I think it might work. Anyone?

You could make the two momentary switches work by having one switch trigger a relay and the other switch break the connection by triggering a second relay tied in series to cut off the power to the first relay. More work than a single push on, push off switch, but it is doable.

well I went ahead and put a push on, push off button in. I have that cool drink holder from Geno's and put it on the front of it where it is easy to get to, yet not gonna get hit by accident. It works. Doesn't slow truck as much as I hoped goin down hills locked up with overdrive off, and sure drops the rpm's when i hit it at 30mph. Not quite as sweet as i hoped, but better than nothin.
