Rack stop fuel plate

Is there a plate that serves as just a rack stop to prevent the rack from digging into the governor? If so, where can I get one? Does anyone have a picture of one? I am in need of a plate bigger than a #4.

Taking a plate and grinding it flat to equal a "Zero" plate allows for maimum rack travel, without the fear of over extending the rack.

That's what I plan on doing as soon as I get my HX40 rebuilt and on. ;D

Flat.

Or straight with the furtherest bit of travel thats already there.

Are you planning on grinding on that #4 plate?
If so would you want to sell it and grind your stock plate?

Re:Rack stop fuel plate

well I heard that if you take a #10 plate and measure the top of the curve with the plate slid all the way forward it is at the #0 plate spot. and on my #10 that is 1 1/4 from the back.

Re:Rack stop fuel plate

i ground my stock plate to a #0 (though i'm not using it at the moment). make sure that the rackstop isn't going underneath the #0 in which it will likely do when the plate is in the middle. then you have to do the lever adjustment, but make sure you tighten the arm adjustment locknut screw tight.

Re:Rack stop fuel plate

Play with your plate but remember 18mm of rack travel is better than 21 (max) I have proved this at the track and on the dyno....more isn't always better....guy thing!

Jim I do agree to this statement to a point. Most street driven setups cant handle more than 18mm.

Re:Rack stop fuel plate

no, it's not as simle as more boost. it's about air temp/*density* of oxygen. more boost creates more heat which means that the intake air isn't as dense and therefor there's less oxygen per part.

with all of that rack travel, you're buring the fuel late anyways which may not (and usually doesn't) equate to more horsepower.
