Well now i am kind of worried. I will fix it if it breaks but i dont want to fix something just because i wanted to have some fun. Is there anything i can do about the pin problem that would take care of the problem?

12 valve, whether the arm hits the plate or not is a combination of rpm and load.
inline, grind your plate to #0, same results as no plate but no risk of damage.

the AFC arm becomes your "plate" so you need to adjust the lever arm so that it doesn't dive under the AFC arm and overtravel!

that's good info infidel. don't have a 12 valve, but it's nice to put a picture in my mind of what ya'll are talking about with the plate. I still hope this boy covers them turkeys with black smoke though. Had a bunch like that when I was in high school, stayed at my prom for 15 minutes then left and me and my best friend and our girls went out someplace far away from the "prep club"

i have heard of the don't remove the plate you will break some pin thing. but i have never seen anyone that has broke there pump because they ran plateless. i have heard all the storys about how bad it can be. i am begining to think it is a old wives tale. now i do run a plate to get a better fuel feed to the motor. i have no need to blow a bunch of smoke, that can't be satisfied with the injectors i run.
