questions on gauges and placement

i have been looking at gauges and reviewing some post here about them. i want to run the fp, egt, trans temp, boost. maybe not the egt seeing how i do not have any BOMBS YET. lol

any manufactures more reliable than another?

how about back ground color? is the white back ground to bright at night?

mounting them on the a pillar, has anyone had a problem with them lit up and driving at night? sometimes my dash lights bother me at night so i dim them pretty well. i am a little worried about the a pillar mount. though i like it. also i wonder if it is going to obstruct my veiw. i am 6' 7" tall and sit high in the seat. i like to see everything.

any opinions please share. i have not even been able to sit in a truck with the apillar mount. so it is a hard decision. also looking at the dash pod. but like the a pillar

i was looking at them on genosgarage site. any better place to buy from? site sponser?

thanks

i bought the scottys dodge pod because i did not want more obstruction on the pillar, from what i have seen it adds another inch or so to the width. with the dodge pod mounted on the dash its great, out of the way and can fit 4 gages in there. i hope to have a pic in my gallery soon.

I just installed Autometer EGT,boost and Fp gauge ( fp not hooked up yet) in my truck and i have all three on the pillar. It was pretty easy to me, i am a diesel tech so i've done some gauge installs before. The pain in the <edit> for me was just the wiring, it wasn't hard but just a little time consuming. Having my gauges on the pillar i thought it would be too much of an obstruction but its not really.

If your handy with tools you can actual mount a couple "in dash" like I did in my Gallery photos.
