Question on EDGE EZ?????
#18
OK-- set your Comp to 1x1 or 1x2. That's power level 1, with sublevel 1 or 2.
The EZ has three jumpers positions that adjust the fueling curve. The most aggressive EZ position is equivalent to a Comp 1x5 (power level 1, sublevel 5). The middle position is the same as 1x4, and the "mildest" EZ setting is the same as 1x3 on the Comp.
So, on the EZ's mildest setting, it follows the stock fueling curve, and most of your power is just coming from timing, as there's no additional fuel added until 20psi of boost.
However, the Comp will actually allow you to choose fueling rates even LESS aggressive than the stock fuel curve. These are the sublevels 1 and 2, no matter of the power level.
So to make a Comp give less smoke than an EZ, just set it to 1x2 or 1x1.
Shoot, even on 3x1, a Comp will give less smoke on the bottom than an EZ, while giving way more power. It will just feel very unresponsive because of the lack of low end fueling.
And now you know.
And knowing is half the battle.

According to Edge, EZ is as follows....
Setting #1 = 33% of additional fueling @ 0 psi …….100% @ 20 psi
Setting #2 = 50% of additional fueling @ 0 psi …….100% @ 15 psi
Setting #3 = 67% of additional fueling @ 0 psi …….100% @ 10 psi

Indeed. Edge has changed the EZ curves over the years. Once upon a time is was 3psi, 10psi, then 20psi. Then it was 5, 10, 20. Now it's 10, 15, 20.
I should have said MOSTLY follows the stock curve on the mildest setting, because while there is more fuel, the timing is mostly what you're feeling.
Good Catch, RJ.
I need to be more careful in what I'm posting!
