Question Question on EDGE EZ?????

I was looking for a computer with a little extra HP & Torque for towing applications, from what I've read the EDGE EZ and the Quadzilla Tow Box seem to do just that. Does any one have any input on these two boxes or suggest another box?

Its a good start, but you need some gauges first before you add any box to you truck, if not it will be a little pieceof insurance you wish you had when your fuel pressure drops to zero and you slowly kill your injection pump. Fuel psi, pyro temp, and tranny temp are what you need. I haven't heard anything bad about either box.

Don't know the Quad box... relatively new and untried, IMO. The EZ is about all your stock tranny can handle... and there are some great buys in the Classifieds.
The Rolls Royce of tow boxes would be the Smarty

i wouldent say you needed gauges for and Edge EZ. its just a timing box so its not to intense, i had one on my truck before i got the comp and i had gauges with the EZ, my pyro never passed 1000 and my boost never passed 22psi which is stock, but over all the EZ is a great box.

My HO would easily produce high EGT when loaded (20K) pulling a long hill. I second the "get guages" suggestion. I often had to back off the throttle when I hit 1350*. This happened prior to adding RV275 injectors.

I had an EZ and loved it. I would reccomend getting a steering column gauge mount throwing a Fuel Pressure gauge in it.

I have an EZ and love it. I tow 9500 - 10,000# throughout the summer with my truck, and I have had no issues, tranny or otherwise.

.....I thought that too, but the trans upgrade and injectors made it twice the truck it was with just the EZ .

My truck ran mostly cooler than stock due to the timing of the EZ but I never hauled with it, I only had it a week before I got my injectors.

Better safe than sorry!!!!

i got an ez and my egts will hit 1200 if i hold 30lbs of boost long enough empty. towing i usually stay below 1100 and my boost stays at 20 or below i dont push the truck as hard i guess.

The EZ is better than the Comp for towing. Definitely better.

Definitely not. The comp is more versatile, allowing you to defuel below stock fueling, even without tapping the wire.

A comp with the "wire dangling" is the best Edge product for towing. Definitely.
