Question: Donaldson vs. Straight Pipe

Just bought an 01 a week or so ago. The truck already has stacks installed on it (BIG plus)

Anyway, I noticed that the truck has a Donaldson muffler on it. I don't know much about this muffler. What is its effect?

If I take it off will it be louder? Does the muffler change the tone?

Ya It does make it a bit quieter. Especally when you going down the road, it will quiet the drone. You can keep it on if you dont want much noise, but me thats no fun. As for tone it will change it just a bit but not very much. I realy have never heard of Donaldson but I am not a real big fan of mufflers, but thats just me.

Oh and by the way lets see some Pics!

OK, if it even quiets it down a little bit, it's coming off

I'll get some pics up soon

Donaldson makes semi truck and heavy equipment exhaust systems. Save the muffler when you take it off, you might want to put it back on.
