question about turning up pump
I need alot of help in turning up my pump. Theres a ford boy at school running his mouth and i want to shut him up once and forall. he has a ford f-250 and he wotn tell me anythign about it. he just says that he can beat mine. I have a 92 Dodge ram 250. its all stock and the only thing i have dotn is chop muffler and turn the smoke screw all the way. Now i want to adjust the pump with out having to order the new injectors. I just want to know how far i can go without having to buy the injectors. I read in a book that you can easily get 225 HP outta these motors with out the injectors. but i know that they woudl help alot. i do not know anything abou turning one of these up so any help giving is greatly apperciated.

well be-in u have an auto that kinda puts the breaks on, if you want to beat him you can but might kill your tranny. you might want to hold off and get the guy when you better equiped. can you see any emblems on his truck? BANKS, ATS, DTT, JRE..... you might be able to smoke him so bad that he cant see, and win, just make sure he is on your right side

Nope no emblems on him truck. But i went out about 30 minutes ago and removed the airbox. If i knew it was that simple id done it alogn time ago. jsut one nut and it was popped off. now i still got the filter on it. i read alot of posts about when they take off the air box you can hear the turbo better. i dunno if it was me expecting alot or what but i jsut didnot seem to hear much more. I looked at the pump. its kinda scary messing with it. it jsut looks confussing. ill take a look at it again in auto mechanics class. maybe i can turn it up a bit and get a few HP outta it. cheer me on yall. im gogin to smoke this ford. maybe next i will take on my friends dads duramax. (NOT REALLY) he done sucked me up and blew me out. i just told him i was not racing.

he said it, all you need is time, your truck can do it. just watch your tranny, you can up the power a little just make sure your foot doesnt become part of the floor. the fact is you got a sick truck but it needs a little work to be perfect. just keep reading and asking questions on this site and maybe by the end of the school year you can get the ford guy.

i think i turned the rear pump up. ok this is what i did. i got this aluminum cover off then there was a screw and a jam nut. was this the right thiing. it was kinda hard to access. i loosed the nut adn turned about 1/4 clockwise. then tightened back. i just want to make sure i did this right before i go more.

i seem to recall that you loosen the pump up and adjust the timing by pulling the pump up as close to the block as possible, that it will let you. I seem to recall that helps a bunch.
Also pickup a 16cm or smaller exhaust housing to ket your turbo to spool up faster. For $150 it will give you some more edge
