question about turbo master if anyone using one.
right now all i have is an ez, 4" exhaust, and bhaf and when i tow my trailer up steep hills (7% grade) i have to let off the throttle to avoid high temps over 1200 degrees. the truck is in drive (not o/d) and i cant bury my foot in it, i have to cut back on the throttle just to keep it from exceeding 1200 (the hill is very long about 15 miles and gets up to 6k ft). my question is, will increasing my boost from 20psi (stock) to say 34psi, with a turbo master, really make a big enough difference? or would i be better off going to a little bigger housing/turbo?

I would try the turbo master
of course I have one for sale
and
I dont have a housing for sale
but seriously, I would try for more boost pressure than 20 psi to start with before going to a bigger exh housing
didnt you get a boost elbow with the EZ?
it should allow more than 20 psi.

He has the HY35........can't use an elbow.
Crank the boost to 30psi and it will cool you down. See if that does the trick. You can't change the housing only on your turbo.

With your setup more boost will keep you cool. I have used a turnbuckle on all the (late auto) trucks I have done with just an EZ and it has worked great. Ran my own that way for about 25k miles.

You have the same truck as me. The TM will definately help. Dial it in at about 28-30 with the stock injectors. I ended up changing to a HX35/14 cm housing after I changed my injectors. The larger housing keeps it cool but it doesn't spool up as fast as the old HY35/9 cm that I used to have. (same as what you have now)

Re:question about turbo master if anyone using one.
I guess im not very educated on the turbo master or turnbuckles. I have read all over this site about them and you all only talk about automatic trucks............is it not possible to put one on a standard tranny?
I have the same problem that "j." has as far excessive egt's with my tst pm2. Will either of these work on my standard tranny to bring my egt's down? any better suggestions for my problem?
By the way i still have the stock exhaust system.
i would appreciate any replies.
thanks

Yes, Turbo-Master makes them for the HX-35 as well. I'm running one because I was too lazy to run a boost line when I put a wastegated housing on my truck.

Turnbuckle is under $2 at a hardware store, and only takes a few minutes to install or uninstall. Kind of low-tech but works great.

Finally got to try out the new tranny and turnbuckle, Wow!
Used to have to back out of throttle on some of the hills where I take the toyhauler, now I can't get it any warmer than 1100 degrees with it to the floor. Even totally stock I could hit about 1350 so the turnbuckle and EZ rock.
