Quadzilla XZT+ Beta Testers - Look Inside

Since the other thread had sort of a misleading title and we are done with finding testers I figured I would open up a new thread that we could keep sort of clean.

If you guys have anything that needs to be answered you can do it here as long as it is not proprietary at this point.

If you have questions, suggestions or ideas always let me know.

The one thing I have had some request for is more bottom end from our mostly stock truck crowd. Here is an answer to that.

In the beginning the very first guys that chimed in on the module were running pretty good size injectors, like 150hp and up. We were too aggressive for them and have since backed the fueling down. Well that is not the correct thing to do on a stock truck.

So if you have a stock truck or small injectors then please shoot me an email or a message and I will send you an update. If you send me a message I am going to need your email address to get it to you.

If you have any other things to report please let us know. I think by and large this has been very successful so now is the time to chime in if things need to be fixed, changed, or added.

Remember we have over 100 units on the streets and I am not sure how many from the DTR but, there is enough that you should be able to have plenty of feedback.

Thanks Quad for looking into that. Hopefully in a few months when this goes out of beta I'll have my pennies together as I do believe this will be the box for me.

Glat to hear it.

I'm going to stick with the current programs for now. Running a mileage test with the timing only throught the end of the week. Then I'll run the timing/fueling for at least a week to measure the difference in daily driving. After that I'll be willing to try the harder fueling.

One thing I have noticed so far. Before clipping the resistor, commuting mileage dropped around 2mph. I think the resistor was doing more than just "locking" the program in to timing only regardless of switch position. (switch was in the timing only position during this time). The good news is that it appears that with the resistor clipped mileage is at least returning to previous levels. Part of this may be do to "playing" with a little passing power and not the board.

It doesn't hurt that Sharon likes the added power also...or maybe it does.

Ditto what he said. I'm still doing a milage test on timing only and it's looking good so far. No drivability problems at all.

I need to do a mileage test as well, but sometimes I'm just like a kid at christmas, can't help but play with the new toy.
It's hard to leave the switch alone

Just FYI, with the resistor in place the module was doing nothing. I originally thought it was causing it not to switch but, it was a test spot for something else and with it in place the only thing the module could do at all is boost fool.

Given that info I am guessing now you should be gaining some mileage over stock.

I would say that out of all the testers we have had maybe 3 people have any drivability issues at all and they all had injectors of at least 100hp but, I think they were bigger than that.

We were just too cautious and when we got some of that feedback in we jumped and made some changes.

What will most likely happen is that we will put a pretty aggressive tune on it for production. Then if you have serious injectors or something you can just go to the website and download different files to suit what you have.

Before this is all done we will have EVERY beta tester change files to put a final test on the USB stuff and our installer software. Even if it is the same tune with the switch working backwards to make sure the USB is working. This is something we will have to test. So far it is all good and easy and works like a dream but, inevitably if we do not actually test it, then it will have a bug after we release it.

Also there is something very interesting going on with some of these injectors. I do not think it is the so much the size of the injectors but, maybe the pop off pressure of the injectors that is giving us grief. I know for sure that so far ALL of the Dragon Flows are finicky if you try to fuel very quickly with them. Now we also have some other guys with 150+ injectors that have no problems with the most aggressive tunes??? That sort of amazes me. We will put a finger on it at some point and make sure we have a perfect tune for those guys as well.

All in all this has been fairly un-eventful for a lot of you guys which is good.

The only issues I know of so far are:

1.) Make sure we put something in the instructions that tells you what is off on the switch (duh!!!!)
2.) Bigger injectors have a slight shudder at light acceleration with the very aggressive tuning

If I need to add to that list please chime in!

Yeah, that was stupid though.

I was referring to bugs, glitches or issues with the product not an employees brain!

I got $5 that says that it never happens again though!!!!!!!!

Quad

Well actually Quad, you only have 99 units out. Mine still isn't here. Your guys have had mine now for 3 weeks today. I've been without it for 3 and a half weeks. Roark called me this past monday to ask if I had it. He then said he'll ship one then. It's been 4 days and still nothing. I think it was shipped via the Poney Express........

I am so confused.

I talked to Roark and he says you have one, you are just waiting on a new one with USB enabled with a different tuning file???

I understand you shipped the original back but, you do have a replacement correct? You are just waiting on another????

There are 2 of you on here that I just get really confused and that is you and Jlent. For some reason I cannot remember which one of you is which!!!!

Seriously man, I do NOT have a box. I sent it to you guys 3 weeks ago. And I have not seen it since. I'm hopeing it'll show up tomorrow. That is if it really was sent out on monday. I understand you're confused, but I really do not have it. You guys sent me the original, I ran it, had the surging issue, I then sent it back to you (on my dime no less, to get it to you faster) and I haven't seen it since.

Ok, I have to figure out how this happens. Will you be available tomorrow if I can get UPS to deliver on Saturday?

YES. I'll be around the house all day. Gotta clean and re-orgianize my garage anyways.

Actually, he did send you one. It is out for delivery right now or at least that is what UPS says when you track it.
