So far so good. I got the tune loaded tonight and took it for a short drive. I did not notice any surging in timing/fuel, but the real test is when I hook up to the boat. If there's any surging, it's usually exagerated when pulling the boat. This tune pulls hard, but could not stay on the throttle too long - didn't feel comfortable at night and too many popo's out. Pulled in the drive way and put the switch in the off position to test the high idle. After 2 minutes, the idle kicked up to 1200. I'll report back in a few more days after I get some miles in.

same deal for me, still does it, my guess is fuel related. seemed to do it worse when I added the 275's. turn the switch off and it still does it a tiny bit with the injectors. never did it before the box or injectors but my guess is the auto's TC's are just locking @ too low of an RPM. causing the surge similar to when you hit too high a gear in a 5 speed and it just chugs and shudders along ie: too low an RPM.
My TC locks, when cruising, @ about 1200 rpm and goes down to about 1100 after it locks (cruising, very light throttle)
My buddy has his 12valve turned up and he says he can get his to do the same thing since he's changed the fuel plate.(although i've never been in his to see what it feels like) And his is a 5 speed, thats what leads me to think its due to too low an rpm with the wrong amount of fuel at that certain point.
lug a gasser down to 4th or 5th gear at a low speed and you will get a similar thing. just isn't noticable with the regular amount of fuel.
And, it would seem to happen less for 5 speeds just due to the different ways people shift and drive them most prolly don't leave them in that high of a gear for such a low speed (45km/h in 3rd just basically idleing through town is prolly a little low but thats what the auto does)
So what do you guys think?? my opinion, quad if you can solve this great, but as far as my truck goes I don't think the box is the actual cause, seems to me if the TC locked @ 1500 rpm or i had maybe a steeper gear ratio in the diff the problem might go away. .....??????

I loaded the XZT+_BETA1 code last night and it's performing like a new truck! Strong, responsive, no shudder or other issues. It seems to stay in gear a bit longer accelerating but that's not anything I'm concerned about.
Quadzilla, I believe you've solved my puzzle, thanks!

Well, yes and no. You can only make 65-70hp feel so different.
The way we are actually doing the fueling and timing is drastically different. I think this new way is way better, smoother, will get better mileage and will make more power.

Is there any way i can get the recipe for the old ADR3000? On my truck the lower settings on that are smoother then the new ones. I get a real mild lurching when i accelerate in the 1700-2200 rpm range when i hit the pedal just right. On the 3000 it was real smooth until the high rpms and if i turned it down to 5 perfect. I just want to see the differences and play around.

I think you are looking for the Adrenaline thread?
Either way the 3000 tune does not have different fueling or timing maps than the current tunes. I believe the TPS was set to 0% for the MIN and 100% for the max and the stretch was 1600. Everything else is the same.

Finally got a chance to run the Beta Tune WOT (got my new lift pump finally). This tune is very very smooth, and good power band as well. I have yet to encounter any surging in this tune. Great tune Quad, also like the high idle!!!

Its been out a while but, it looks like it did not transfer over or something in the website switch?
You want 1.4.9

The New Beta Tune Is Working Great. What Is The Update For The Commander? I Know On Version 1.4.9, It Says It Adds Support For The Xzt+ Modules, What Exactly Does That Mean?
