NCA, what is your grounding wire connected to? Is it a connector that is on the sender? Mine only has the connector off the top for the Quadzilla. The ground was supposed to be through the banjo bolt adapter connection. I tried moving it to off the FF with a needle valve but still got the recurrent "0" readings. I sure like knowing what my fuel pressure is but will have to wait for a fix from Quadzilla, I guess....

I have replaced the pressure sender 2 times under warranty from Quadzilla. I just purchased a new Stewart Warner Pressure Sender PN# 279B-F this is a 100 psi sender and it is working flawlessly. This pressure sender is a little shorter than the 2 replacement i have received. I think the pressure Sender varies less on the new sender due to the 100 psi. rateing. And a 2 year warranty. Cost was $30.00

it is the same wire...there is only one wire comming off the sending unit...it is self grounding....just make sure that the nut or series is tight...also scrap any teflon tape that you may have used around the banjo bolt.

you know what another thing i think it may be....and this is STRICTLY a GUESS....i think this ULSD plays games with the unit..the reason is because previous to this happening on mine....i would seek out any remaining fuel stations that didnt supply ULSD and i got rock steady numbers...then one day i decided to fill at a local chevron and they had that sticker right on the pump...ULSD.....and from that point on..i had the problems...then i decided to use the needle valve....

also i could have been the fact that it happened right around the time we swithched season's blends....summer to winter blend...

heck...it could have been a lot of factors...but for some reason or another when i did the tests between the needle valve and not a valve the needle valve SURE DID THE TRICK!!!!!!!!

I don't want to burst your bubble but, using a 0-100 psi sensor is going to cause your readings to be off. How much is only a guess without having a data sheet. The gauge you have is calibrated for a 0-40psi sensor and that is probably why you are not getting hardly any fluctuation. To move 1psi it would have to move probably something like 3 times more on the output of the sending unit to make it move.

I have a 1 psi differance between the electric and mechanical. I tried adjusting the commander up 1 notch and it was 3 psi to high. I am happy with the 1 psi differance and the gauge is holding steady for now. I will keep you posted. I am getting ready to head out for 3days vegas, 5 days at 6 flags in Calif., 7 days in San Diego. I am trying to stimulate the economy with that repate check.LOL

QZILLA correct me if I am wrong the Commander has an option for selecting a 40 psi sender and 100 psi sender. I do understand that the gauge may read a little slower but the sender is rated 240 ohm to 33 ohm which is the same a the unit shiped when I purchased the assembly from Quadzilla. The ohm rating can be checked on the DATCOM site and the Stewart Warner Site.

joeimmo that is what a snubber does only better another member suggested using a coiled up plastic oil sending unit tube in series with the copper one for the mechanical i bet 12' of 1/16" plastic line would work for the electric

Hoseman, I am assuming you are using the 100 psi sending unit setting on the Commander. I'm going to check out the Stewart Warner unit. Thanks.

It's working better than any datcon sender I received. You got to love the internet. The 100 pst SW sender and the 40 psi I recieved from Qaud are both rated the same.

Check out Dakota Digital's stuff. I have their gauges in my truck and they use a sender manufactured by VDO. With a 24" hose by Geno's mine has survived the last 3 years with no issues at all. 0-30psi with .1 resolution. I have to say it has lasted longer than I thought it would with all the nay sayers about electric gauges on this forum. Awesome quality.

I read someplace, probably here, that Quad's tech support said that a Isspro sender of some type would work?
That guy said it worked for him first time, and he was happy.

Is this sender unit still holding up for you? Mine is also dead now and the Quadzilla people told me maybe August for the new sender units.

My sending unit also just quit, I have a liquid filled mechanical gauge in place where the sending unit was for now, but I cant keep tabs on my fuel pressure under load with this setup. I wish I could resolve this before I haul our cabover camper on vacation in a week. Meantime I guess I will have to wait for Quadzilla to resolve this issue.

I got the ATM-2242 from Summit for $30 and it's working great. Just set your Commander on 0-100....

Quadzilla sent me a new sender, same as the old one and it failed right out of the box. Since I have the FASS 150 I think I will just stick with the mechanical gauge under the hood.
