Quadzilla Commander

so saying i go with the commander as my guage choice....i understand they do not incorperate the FP sender and it is an additional 90.00 bucks...ok guess u gotta live with it...

my question is if it can read 6 other parameters how does it do that....

for example...egt...do they provide the thermo..or do you need to purchase that as well....what about boost...what about tranny temp....

do you need to buy each of them...or do they supply what is needed to check these other parameters...if they do well then heck l will live with the 90 for the FP portion..

those that have the commander or a better understanding let me know.

Yes, everything is included to monitor all of the parameters except the fuel pressure. It is pretty easy to install. The pyrometer install took the longest for me since you have to drill into the manifold.

Talk to Eric at Vulcan Performance. You can get it cheaper than that from him. (360) 713-1549

Nor_Cal_Angler,
I have mine installed for a week now. Have about 100 miles on it. Love it! Have it set up as a stand-alone. I first thought you could see all six readings-Commander will only display four readings, so I have EGT, Trans temp, engine temp, and boost displayed all of the time. The fuel low pressure alarm is set at 5 psi, so I will know when I have a fuel problem. I look at the rail pressure occasionally.
Commander comes with trans and pyro temp sensors and you splice in to boost and engine temperature sensors. Like merrillr4 said, the pyro also took me the longest to install. I purchased the fuel accessory and it comes with a low pressure sensor that gets installed on the IP, and you splice into the rail pressure sensor. The trans temp sensor really needs to go in the coolant line instead of the test port location as described in the installation instructions. You can get a nice coolant line replacement with a temperature well from Diesel Manor.
PM TOP for a great price. He helped me out.
Ask if you have more questions.
David

I also decided on the Commander. I found a package deal that includes the pillar mount and the fuel pressure option with free delivery for $425, which I thought to be a good price. I figured this was a better way to go for the gauge solution because of the ease of install & aspects being monitored comparatively speaking, rather than a conventional 3 gauge cluster. And....most importantly for an old guy who wears glasses, the display is larger than Edge's Attitude!! Anyways, it'll be here this week and it's going on soon as it hits my place!! I'll chime in on the install...

Don't waste your money on the fuel pressure option. The sending units are all failing and Quadzilla is apparently still looking for a replacement unit to offer.

I have close to 10k miles on my commander and, If you don't count the lack of a fuel pressure reading (even after spending the extra money for one),I've been very happy with all other features of the Commander. Boost, egt, tranny temp, water temp, readings all seem to be accurate and consistent. The pillar mount is very nice and definitely worth the extra money.

I'm probably going to look into a mechanical gauge for the fuel pressure because it doesn't sound entirely promising that they're going to find a fix anytime soon. I read a post by quadzilla saying that all the electronic fp sending units they've tried are made in the same factory and have the problems.
