I am. My truck will be on the dyno on March 15. I'm limited to two runs on the dyno, so what should I do? I was thinking one run with the Adranaline only (Comp tune), and for my second run either totally stock or the Adrenaline + Smarty #8. Any suggestions?

Your choice, but I would leave the Smarty out of it and test Adrenaline on #8 and #10. PL08 has proven best power for big injectors but suspect #10 would give stock or moderate injectors better results. That would be valuable info for Quad...and others.
Why only two pulls??

Man, that's too bad for Tyler. I know that has to be frustrating for him.

Tyler (RIP) did 407 HP.

I remember my first indication for a failing VP-44 was a 400 hp dyno run when I knew I was over 500 HP. But he is convinced otherwise...because it drives so well. Mine did too, but he seems convinced problem is elsewhere??

I hope that is all it is. Quick easy fix....still a thousand bucks though. Mine still put up some pretty good #'s when it started acting up. It may have been fine, but it had 120k on it, idle jumped around, was a little rough and loud so I figured it was time.

He'll find out soon enough when he is stranded on the side of the road. For a college student though, I believe I'd try and wait. $1000 bucks was impossible for me to come up with in those days. 'Course I didn't drive an expensive CTD either....I had a Subaru station wagon....it was 4x4 at least though............thought I had a cool car too.....well at least happy to have a car.....

-Box makes an honest 183 HP and 407 ft-lbs Torque, on my CTD
-PL08 is still strongest (dyno) setting tested…. As was on V300 tune (TST Comp was #7)
-Wish I had tested PL07
-PL09 lost 21 HP/200 ft-lbs
-PL10 lost additional 1 HP but gained back 39 ft-lbs
-Surprisingly Comp Tune on PL08 lost 56 HP and 130 ft-lbs ….. Pulled smoothly and hard to 3850 rpm and felt stronger than results showed??

RESULTS…
1st Pull - ADR2000 on PL00, 415 hp / 849 ft-lbs
2th Pull - ADR2000 on PL08, 598 hp / 1256 ft-lbs, reved to red line rpm
3rd Pull - ADR2000 on PL09, 576 hp / 1056 ft-lbs, reved to red line rpm
4th Pull - ADR2000 on PL10, 575 hp / 1095 ft-lbs, reved to red line rpm
5th Pull - Comp Tune on PL08, 541 hp / 1126 ft-lbs,reved to 3850 rpm
Correction Factor = 1.1, All results corrected #’s
Correction (mis read dyno sheet) to Tq number for pull # 3. Should be 576/1096. This make more sense....no ?

Correction has now been made to original post (#1158).

Interesting in a few areas...
-Peak HP on PL08, 09 & 10 all hit max between 2700 & 2900 rpm
-HP drops off gradually from there, but IN A STRAIGHT LINE, down to around 500 hp at 3400 rpm, where I started backing out of it.

RowJ, original Big Blue changed his VP in July. So now he is going to try a Drag Comp to see if his TST is not fueling, it is soldered on so he doesn't know what to think. He also mentioned that he is going to do a compression test in the next week or two to figure out if something is wrong internally. If so, he said he is going to buy a beater to drive around, tear out his motor, and drop a CR engine in. Guy must have some $$ or graduation plans if he is gonna accomplish all of that.

Dont have a scanner here at school, but I will try and get the graph posted when I go back home this weekend

Some interesting info from the graph:
from approx 1700-3600RPM I had an average HP of 472 and an avereage TQ of 920! That is pretty respectable I think... especially the 920TQ!

BN - Never saw your actual print out from Friday night.
Did your HP graph drop off similar to mine? Fairly short range of rpm for max HP and than a steady decline?

Don't know what it means but is very different from the old 'table top' type hp graph I use to get with my TST from 2700 to 3100 rpm??

At our upcoming dyno day we get two pulls for $75, and that's really all I care to spend. The reason I was considering trying one with the Smarty is because on my truck it sure feels like it really helps on the bottom end. To me it feels like the Adrenaline doesn't do a whole lot until about 1800 rpm, when there is some boost available.
