Put some 181's in my 94.

Just got done putting some 181 delivery valves in my 94 to replace the 131's I had. Went and drove it, and cant tell any difference at all?? Has anyone else done this, and what did you think? I have read the 160 pumps like mine have washers in them that piers says to take out, but I left mine in because I read on here that it didnt matter if you left them in? Is that my problem or can you really just not tell hardly any difference? Everything was done right as far as I know. I still have stock injectors. I only drove it in the dark, so im not sure on smoke, but from what i could tell, it seemed the same... Just let me know what you guys think, and any ideas you may have, or if this is just normal. Thanks

Eric

Im not seeing a turbo in your sig so your already way overfueled for the turbo so you probably wont feel much till you upgrade in that area.JMO

He's running a 160 pump and stock injectors so no he is not way over fueled I didnt consider myself way over fueled with all the mods in my sig plus more playin around in the pump. As long as it would still clear up after the initial cloud and egts arent way out of control then i was fine with it.

No; Im not overfueled at all; plus I have a bigger(16cm) housing on my turbo. EGT's dont really get over 1200* if you roll into it hard in overdrive. I have heard that my injectors wont flow much fuel... I have some 215 injectors in the shop I have been planning on for a while depending on how the DV's did. Maybe I would get a little kick by going to the 215's; especially now that I have the 181's that should feed them a little better? Any ideas on that? Also; these injectors have been sitting a while, and came with a 12 valve block that me and dad bought. What is the best way to clean them, and what should it cost for me to have them pop tested. Id like to put them in, but I would also like to have them pop tested before I do it. Thanks guys.

181's should have made a difference...they did in my 95, but I also had bigger injectors, too! Maybe they need a bit more injector to "open up??"

I'd go ahead and throw the 215's in it...or tell me what you want for them

I think I will keep the injectors. How much of a difference could you feel with the switch to 181's? Id say maybe the injectors do make a difference. Sounds like Ill be switching injectors soon

Putting 191 dv's in my 95 made as much difference as the 10 plate slide ahead did.

I was gonna guess 25-35hp, but that's just the Butt Dyno numbers They really helped spool the B1 I had at the time...@ 322hp

Now I'm running 022's...the biggest stock DV's I've heard of! They are a nice compromise between Laser Cuts, and 181/191's.

You'll definately notice a Butt Dyno increase in power putting those 215's in. Do get them pop tested though. You can get them re-tipped if they're shot for a reasonable price.

Thats another thing I dont understand? I thought maybe it would help spool my turbo. No difference?? What does the little number at the top of the DV stand for? Not the one that says 131 or 181, but the little 0** number. Those numbers were the same on my 181's, and 131's? And I think I am gonna try to put those 215's in soon as i can get them tested.

Don't know...probably has something to do with the DV holder. I think they are all the same, but the DV itself (center) is what's different???

JKM:

Glad to see you put the 191's to good use. Have you put in the 370's yet? Then you'll really feel some punch (and need a new turbo or two).

Yes , i put those DV's to very good use , almost had an accident putting them in , dropped the last one on the ground, luckily i did not lose any shims or anything , a good spray of brake cleaner and in it went. The 370's are still on the shelf , pending a larger turbo(s), and a better intake , i have a 5" exh on order. I might have a job lined up in edmonton alberta working diesel perf , mostly on 12v's , and only on dodges, so i might be able to get myself some cheap goodies.
