pump upgrades
I'm getting ready to bomb but I'd want to know if its alright to do it in steps as I get the money. Can I do a 4k gsk with valve springs and 191 dvs with out doing the injectors at the same time? I'd like to save and get a set of EDM 370's. I read that they have a better spray pattern then the plain 370s. I have a HTB2 on my work bench now which I know I will need for the 370s to keep the EGT's down.
Do you think I'll still be able to tow with this setup?
Thanks for all the help to come!

A 12v stock uses springs to defuel the pump at a set rpm. On trucks like mine it can be as soon as 2100 rpm. A 3 gsk will allow full fuel untill 3000 rpm and the 4 goes to 4000. Hope this helps.

My truck is pretty close to where you are going. My experence has been when I installed the 191DV's I still had my stock turbo on and a #4 plate (4" exhaust and AFE already done). My truck is newer so I've got the 180 pump, yours should be the 160 pump, I've heard the 191 DV's make a big difference on your pump, but with mine if I floored it at any speed within 2-3 seconds I could peg my 1500* pyro, it only made about .3 seconds and 3-4 mph difference in a quarter mile). Now with the HTB2 and the 370 injectors (not the EDM's they should run a little cooler from what I've heard) and a #10 plate, but not the DV's at WOT I can only get to 1450* (on a hot day in Texas). I've only towed once with it and only for a short distance (about 5 miles) I didn't have any problems, but I did keep an eye on the pyro.
I noticed you signature says you have a trans temp gauge, so I assume you have an automatic, I'll also assume you realize you'll need to do some work on that, (you know what all this assumeing gets me) If you do have the auto you might want to rethink the 4K springs and valve springs.
Without some major mods (and maybe even with them) its hard to get the auto not to shift before 3000 rpm's. I would take the money saved on the valve springs and put it toward the trans. upgrades you will need them.
