Your warranty is still void with the cover.

Re:Pump Cover
It taps the fuel selinoid wire on the pump without using the blue t tap that the edge & other boxes supply. It simply makes a better connection.
ps there is no such thing as a silly question ;D

Not only that, but the electrical connection is no better than that of a Scotch Lock.

The Techs can use their diagnostic equipment to pull fueling parameters out of the ECM showing that a Performance Enhancement had been installed even if it had been disconnected.
Dodge is training the techs on what to look for.

Re:Pump Cover
Dealers can and will void the warranty if an aftermarket part directly results in the failure of said warrantied part.
Piercing the wire was evidence that a fueling box was used, and if the injection pump failed, they blamed the box.
Tech would grab the magnifying glass and look for a hole in the pump wire.
No more warranty, fork over $1,300 for a new VP44 and a red flag on your VIN for future warranty work.
The pump cover another way to connect to the injection pump without leaving the tale tale "hole" in the wire.
VP44 dies, so you take it in for service.
Take the box out, put the OEM pump cover back on and take to the dealer for service the dealer wouldn't have any evidence of an aftermarket device being on the truck, and theoretically honor the warranty of the VP44.
In the old days this worked.
Now the Dodge technicians know what to look for inside the ECM, fueling parameters, DTC codes, etc.
Gone are the days of slipping one past the dealer.
Save your money and pierce the wire the old fashioned way, and be prepared to be your own warranty source.

phox mulder,
do you know where they view those area with the DRB

Not sure I understand the question.
What Utah Dealers know how to do this maybe?
I'm sure by now it has trickled down to all of them, as far as the knowledge.
Which ones put out the extra effort to check, I have no idea.
My experience with a couple of the local Dealers, you're pretty lucky to get a competent Diesel mechanic at them.
The 2 I've frequented only have one Diesel guy on staff, and he's kept pretty busy (or so they say)
As stingy as STAR (the warranty OK'ers) is green lighting warranty work (took a week to get my VP44 when it died, unbombed) I think they'd be forced to check everything.
If they miss something, Bosch (the pump manufacturer) runs their own tests and will deny warranty, so the Dealer has to pay if he fixed it under warranty.
Dealer is in it to make money, so less and less of them are willing to look the other way, as some have in the past as well.
Hoops will be jumped through if and when you take your truck in for engine related warranty work.
Take it in for a leaky door seal, it'll be hard to blame that on the fueling box.
They'll probably think up something though.
Don't play if you aren't willing or able to pay.
