What does yor ferrell look like ?? does it cone down on both ends and big in the middle. Does your nut bottom out like in your pic or does it tightn before that.I need help something is not right

I took some pictures of my ferrell. As soon as they are approved, I will post them. It is just like the ferrells used in the boost and F.P. Gauge except this one is bigger.
Which pyro thermocoupler do you have? Did your pyro call for the 1/8" or 1/4" NPT threads? My ferrell sat on top of the threaded thermocoupler fitting and did not sit inside of it, if that makes any sense.

Mine has the 1/4 inch threads into the manifold and the ferrell just sits on top with a little of the ferrell going into the threaded part going into the manifold , I then put the probe in and tightend the nut down but it bottoms out with no resistance and still leaks.

I'm not sure what the problem is then. I have the 1/8" fitting while you have the 1/4" fitting. I am not sure if the diameter of the top of the two fittings are different. I will still call dieselmanor tomorrow and see.

Dave from Dieselmanor is going to send me the steel ferrule from ISSPRO. It looks a little different. See the link below:

You may have to get this:
ISSPRO R684 Steel Compression Fitting, 1/4" NPTF, for Thermocouples to be used in 1/4" NPT threads. This fitting replaces the entire fitting shown on PN's: R658-SHT-8F above. Black oxide coated finish.
Price $8.95
For 8.95 you can fix your problem and not worry about it anymore. That's what I would do.

Strangest thing happened today. We had a huge storm last night. I was looking around the driveway again thinking the ferrule may have surfaced after the storm. Guess what...it did see below pic:
I've asked Dave at dieselmanor if your 1/4" fitting will take the same ferrule. Once I hear back from him I will let you know.

The ferrule is the same in the 1/8"NPT vs. 1/4"NPT. The only difference is the thread size. Make sure that you mention that Inconel ISSPRO thermocouples are black oxided coated steel fittings. The standard, less expensive thermocouples use brass fittings.
Example:
part # R658SHT-8F is a (Short Hi-Temp) thermocouple with 1/8 NPT threads. Rated to 2000 degrees.
part # R658S-8f is a (Short) thermocouple with 1/8NPT threads, but is not Inconel and has a brass fitting Rated to 1600 degrees.
