EDIT- I thought I was in the 400 hp thread not the 500
Gotta get on the rollers.

I'm not trying to be *that* optimistic. I'm pretty sure a tst would put me to 500, but I have much testing to do with the smarty before I decide on a wire tap. A set of M6's would be the alternative

Ok, looking at my sig, what do I NEED to make 500+ hp? I'm guessing my turbo will need to be upgraded to a 64/14 right? What injectors? anything else? Thanks

Those are really similar #'s to my dyno run with basically the same combination. Mine is just a standard Comp though. See signature below. Let me know what turbo he went with and how the dyno came out. Just curious as I suspect a turbo is in my future.

BTW, I had a Smarty on my truck last night and from the seat of the pants, it is awesome. I don't know how much would show up on a dyno, but who cares.....it was unbelievable!

Thanks, Matt

From what Doug tells me PS62 will get you to 500- so maybe your HTB2 will too. Dunno. I think you'll need one or two things off your coming soon list

Definately bigger/better injectors. I'm running new ones from Dyno-Mite Diesel Performance that are amazing, smoother idle, mess yourself power, very clean and perfectly balanced. I don't work for them, but I am a very satisfied customer!

Good luck!

I'm interested to see the EGT comparison between some EDM sticks and some DDP sticks giving similar horsepower numbers. That has been one of the biggest selling points to DonM's injectors for me, but the initial price offering from DDP is VERY enticing! I'm ready to detune for better heavy towing (at least heavy towing without having to stare at the pyro!) and I'm not ready to kick down $3k-$4k for twins/o-ring/etc

Neil,

I ran 344/688 with DD2's and 411/810 with the J-48's. So with everything else the same I gained 66 hp and 122 tq, both runs with my Comp off. So figuring I was getting approximately 80 hp with 2's and picked up another 66 with the J-48's, they are in the 140-150 hp range.

My Comp is on it's way back from Edge, had some problems and getting the Drag upgrade, I have been on injectors only since my last dyno. I haven't hit the yellow area on my pyro (Isspro), so EGT's have been great. I'm sure that will change soon!

DDP will make any size injector you want. One of the best things about them is they are balanced, so the idle is incredibly smooth. When I started my truck up for the first time it was dramatically smoother when idling.

If you are looking for a new set, I highly recommend them. And they have sale pricing this month, can't quote anything, but I had money leftover for other BOMB's.

I'm sending my injetors to DDP this week. I've heard nothing but good things about their injectors. I'm going with a little over 150 though ;-)

Can you PM me what you payed for your injectors? DO they need my old stockers for the bodies? Thanks

They do have an "old" website, it should be upgraded very soon. Your best bet is to call them 360-794-7974 or www.dyno-mitediesel.com

My roommate finally got on a dyno and laid down 402hp. Dyno wasn't picking up torque that night. For what it's worth, we did a dyno on both his truck and mine with a standard and then a drag comp and peak power was the same on both trucks but there was an additional 40hp after 2700rpm on both trucks.
