Proven 500+hp combos for H.O.'s ??????
I'm not sure if I will have the funds to get there, but incase I do, what will I need in addition to what I have already to get 500+hp out of my 2001 H.O.?? Can it be done without a HotRod VP44? Will Mach 4's be enough injector? what is a proven recipe for 500+hp out of an H.O. truck? I'm not sure where I am as of now, but I'll know in October after I dyno.

With the stock VP IMO mach 4's or 4.5's (4.5's are the biggest you can go on a stock HO VP) a comp box or a fueling box and timing box stacked, turbo/s. This would get ya close.
With a HRVP - Mach 4's, drag comp or TST comp and timing box, turbo/s. This would get you well over 500.

And with a HRVP the sky's the limit?

Well, 485hp and 1205 for torque, and still HX35. So if I can clean up the wasted power out the pipe with a set of twins, I ought to have it. I still have the HO VP. Working on getting a SO pump to work in the truck, I just need the numbers off of a '01 5 spd ECM so that I can get one for my truck and switch over............let ya know when it is done. Jim.

Thanks Bart, mind sharing your combo? Was that on a Mustang or Dynojet?
The dyno I run on is a Mustang and I heard they are usually a few hp less than a dynojet....true?

ETH/DEE are the factory order codes for the HO motor and 6-speed trans.
Drag Comp, F1 mach3s, B1-2 got me 434hp and 1006torque with 37" BFG mudders and 3.54 gears. I don't recall who, but someone with the same hard parts hit 495 with 4.11 gears and 35" tires.

M4s should take you past 500. HRvp with 4s will take you WELL past 500.
At that power level, you're into big single charger range: sledpuller 66, Phat Shaft 66, J.R.s Lil 55 or a full B1. Any hx40-class charger is out of its league.
I see no reason why you couldn't hit 500 with M4s, a stock HO pump, and a single turbo. It WILL take an aggressive box, like a Drag Comp, or Competition Powermax or Blue Chip Redline.

Two things I'll share about my combo which ought to stir up the pot a little bit. I'm running an unmodified stock air box with a K&N filter and the rubber boot removed. I'm also running 2 mufflers on my 4" Jardine exhaust to keep it quiet as possible. Listening to some folks around here, changing to a BHAF and straight pipe ought to be worth 10 or 20 extra ponies.
