Proud new owner...Now what?

Hey guys, I'm the proud new owner of a 1998 12valve quadcab with 200,000 miles on her. The truck came with a 4" turbo back exhaust, K&N intake (I will soon be getting rid of that sieve for an air filter), 300 bosch injectors, and a performance auto trans. The truck has decent power as I can tell it definitely does have bigger injectors. It wasn't until I drove it home on the highway that I could tell the transmission was slipping when in overdrive. So, at anyrate I'm having the tranny rebuilt by a licensed Goerend tranny installation shop here in Mass with goerend's 3-disk converter, billet input, upgraded clutches, billet flex plate, shift kit, and some other goodies (no billet output though)... This truck will be my daily driver while I commute to and from pennsylvania (700 miles round trip) once a month. If I tow anything it would be a 6000# wood chipper and maybe my Ford 1720 tractor. But no 5'er as of yet. I want to maximize the efficiency of my mighty cummins. What I have yet to install are the gauges (boost, pyro, fuel pressure) (Yea, I was in shock too when I found out the PO installed injectors without gauges). Next I'm entertaining the idea of a fuel plate. Which plate do you guys suggest? Would it be a waste of money to change these bosch 300 sticks out for say, 75hp DDP injectors, in terms of mileage? And if they are better, would I be pushing the stock turbo out of its efficiency range? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

The DDP injectors should give better mileage over the 300s. And to get the most benefit ditch the stock turbo for something like a modified S300 like a 62/65/12. Also I would set the timing to about 16 degrees.

I would try a number 8 or 6 fuel plate, your truck has the 180 pump http://www.tstproducts.com/94-98dodg...thvideo-1.aspx

How about some pics of your truck, I have a '98 12v club cab short box.
