Bad news. Went to get it aligned. I need 4 new ball joints. The shop wants $900 to install them. $500 labor, $400 parts. There's about a 1/4" of up and down play in them. No side to side, just up and down. I'm gonna call dodge and haggle with them. The lift has been on there for a day. No way it caused them to go bad. The shop wouldn't center my steering wheel for me either. Looks like I get to do that. Oh well. Time to save up some money.

Talked to dodge. Told them I've had the lift on there for a day. He said it should be covered under warranty but he needs to look at the truck first. So far, this is looking good.

Did they do the alignment? If so, that is part of the job. They don't get to choose whether they do it or not.

They didn't do the alignment. Said they couldn't. So I went ahead and centered it myself. Truck runs pretty straight. Slight pull to the left or right. Not sure as the roads suck up here. At least the steering wheel is straight. I need to get a hold of a flexible grease gun hose. There are a couple of fittings I'm having a PIB time getting to. At least I greased them before I put them on. I went and re tourqued everything and everything was still nice and tight. We checked my roommates truck and his ball joints move the same as mine (which turned out to be an 1/8", not a 1/4"). Talked to dodge and he said while they may not be that bad, they may be bad enough that the alignment shop couldn't use them. Truck is going in tomorrow regardless. I'll let yall know.

Just got off the phone with dodge. They replaced all the ball joints under warranty, tightened my steering gear nut, and are charging me $30 less than what the local shop around town wants for an alignment. They said my track bar bracket is loose so I'll probably be headed to a muffler shop to have them weld it up real quick today. This is the best dealership I've ever dealt with. If you ever break down in the college station/bryan/navasota area, call Bossier Dodge and ask for david. He's the one who reprogrammed my computer for free for the bigger tires and he's the one who helped me with the joints. After 3 years, I finally find a good dealership that doesn't screw me cause I'm a kid. I just thought I'd give yall a heads up on this.

Picked the truck up today. They did a great job. Runs straight and true. No vibration anywhere. I thanked David for not screwing me cause I'm a kid and he said, "Why would we do that? We get payed one way or another so way try and screw ya." I couldn't have asked for a better service guy than that.

Thanks, but no thanks. If the dealer will do it for $50, I'll let them do it. That way I know it's done at dodge specs and if it's not, I can have a horrible wreck and sue dodge for millions because my alignment was off. Bet I could win that one to.

Dealership couldn't do mine, neither could Les Schwab.
Niether had a rack wide enough.

Had to take mine to a place that does box trucks, panel vans and such.
The place that installed my lift takes all the trucks there and has them aligned after they put the lift in.

That blazer is on 6" of lift and 38" swampers. I'm on 4.5" lift and 35" Nittos.

Am I imagining things, or is it slightly higher in the front? Or sitting on not quite level ground?
