programmers vs MAD ECM

is there a programmer out there that can get spevific about what variables you want to adjust, ie no timing advance at any time (comp) and more fuel in lower rpm more torque than be set back to factory? I like the sounds of the MAD ecm but the towing thing scares me with what i already run, it would be nice to have the trouble code reader in the same unit most have this. Speed limiter etc a guy could custom tune his rig instead of getting a mass program downloaded, maybe I am dreaming about a programmer that would do this the bggest thing about the MAd ecm is it is there to stay unlike most programmers.

As far as I know, there's nothing out there like that for a diesel yet. Try calling marco and see if he can do a custom tune on the ECM for you.

From what I understand the mad ECM is to remove the factory de-fuel that helps to prevent damaging the first and second gear in auto trucks. I'm sure that there is abit more there but that the biggest gain that I've heard about. I plan to run one in a couple of months as I don't want to run the BD rad thingy. Hopefully by then I can keep up with your truck greenworks.

I am looking into this as a possibility to do exactly what you are saying....

From the Cummins website:

Quote:

Inline4 datalink adapter and Cables
Get connected to your dreams with the Inline 4 Datalink adapter system from Cummins. The Inline 4 Datalink adapter system, along with your PC and Cummins software tools, connects to your engine's Electronic Control Module (ECM) to retrieve trip information, tailor your electronic feature and parameter settings to your requirements, or diagnose engine problems. In order to better understand your business needs, Cummins software can be purchased from your authorized Cummins location, or visit PowerSpec to customize your own specs. Have you used the Cummins Insight system? After talking with the local Cummins Insight tech, it appears that it won't work. The ECMs the Insight/Inline4 utilize a 100 pin connector. Our Dodge ECM uses a 50 pin connector. It also contains custom programming for a higher rev limiter and several other Dodge-only functions. In short, I won't say it can't be done, just that it may take a bunch of work?

I don't know but I think the dodge ecm is different than the one that cummins installs and this might not work on a dodge

We are buying another 3,000 HP Cummins diesel genset, so I have a bit of an 'in' with them.

I saw something on there about the Insight 1 not working with Dodge Ram cummins, but it said Insight 2 ould... so I would hope that the latest Insight 4 would work....

Will see what they say tomorrow.

powerspec license and ecm master password or hotspec

Does anyone know how i might be able to obtain a license for the powerspec programme and obtain the ecm master password?
Or has someone out there got a licensed pc that can generate a hotspec for me so that i may adjust the ecm parameters in a 600 signature?

Marco has replaced the ECM CaTCHer with a programmer that is in beta testing right now. The product is going to be available toward the middle of February.

It has 10 different levels of fueling that include both with and without timing. It does exactly what you are asking. You can use it to change fueling and timing anytime you want/need. The re-program time is 2 minutes.

There is also a setting (software #1) that is intended for fuel economy. My first tank running this software yielded 20.2mpg, which I think is pretty good for my rig with winter fuel. Normally, it runs in the high 17mps to low 18mpg in the winter.

There is a banner add at the top (sometimes) at this web site, plus you can contact Bob Wagner.

I think he was talking about the 15 liter Signature 600 Cummins, there are Insite programs you can get that are readable only , when you want to make features and parameter changes you will need to use the Pro version of Insite, and because of the cost, you dont find them everywhere or even at all the dealer level. find a Distributor and they can make the changes. also you mention master password , that means the owner of the engine had a password installed on that ECM to keep unauthorize people from making changes like global speed. in the event you dont have the password , again you will need the Pro version and use a program called Zap-it to remove the password from the ECM to make changes. with the password in there , it is only readable, you cant even erase fault codes.
