I don't know what is going on with my Edge. It is working sometimes. I can wiggle the wires around the battery, and it will work. I cleaned up the neg & pos contacts to the battery. I cleaned the plug up. I checked the connection on the VP44. It will work for aways down the road and quit. I also noticed while running with it off, then turning it on, the power will simply DIE, before it lugs and catches up, but then it takes off and runs, like it is supposed to all the time. I have had this Comp for like 6 or 7 years and it has never been off the truck. Should I replace the harness? I need to send it back to Edge for any updates. Does this sound like connection issues or operating issues??

 

any advice here? this thing is driving me nuts.

 

is the box turning all the way off like the lights go off and everything or do u simply lose throttle? my power wire in my fuse box was loose the other day and would cause mine to lose complete power and i would smack my dash and it would come back on and lights would come back on

 

No sir, the unit stays lit up. Just losing the power.

 

I had same thing, sent back to Edge and they did their electronic flash or whatever they call it, updated and now it works great. Only cost me shipping one way to get it done.

 

Thanks mule. I am going to send my harness to and let them check it out. The lights come on, but it is not powering up at all now.

 

Had to take the Comp out yesterday. It started throwing a P1689 code. Took out the comp and code and check engine light went away. Any ideas? Is Comp just crapped out?

 

maybe it crapped out. not uncommon for the Comps, but Edge has EXTREMELY good customer service. I had mine out 2x in 4 years and they repaired it free both times. also could be a short or ground issue. I grounded my Comp to the front left fender where a small ground from the left battery is already connected.
