If you have not changed your PS fluid in a while, that could be the problem. Especially on 4x4's with bigger tires. Easiest way is to get a rubber balled battery filler and suck fluid out of resevoir. I have had great luck with Amsoil's synthetic ATF. Refill reservoir and let it circulate. I do mine @ 60 days or as often as required to keep fluid from turning black.
I'm sure others will chime in on more elaborate ways to change complete system. This works for me.

Pick up a bottle of Lube-Gard PS system additive from the auto parts and give it a try. It's great stuff, had it take the squeal out of a neighbors truck that had been squealing for ten years. Also eliminates cold weather squeal.
I used to recommend switching over to synthetic on these rigs to eliminate the squeal but the Lube-Gard is so much easier.

I used a $.99 turkey baster with a 8" section of 3/8" fuel hose to siphon out a 1/2 qt at a time.
1. Siphon out everything the reservior
2. Fill with new fluid
3. Replace cap **IMPORTANT**
4. Start the truck
5. Turn steering wheel completely each way ~3 times
6. Repeat until fluid coming out becomes close the to color being added. It took 2 quarts before mine became clear.
