Power Edge EZ

I am the proud new owner of an Edge EZ it was delivered on May 26th at 2:11 pm and weighed in at a whooping 65 HP. All I can say is WOW did it ever wake this motor up, I did not think it would work this well. I have a few questions about it.

1) It seems to smoke alot at the bottom end is this normal.

2) I disconnected it and went for a run watching my exhaust in the mirror and in stock form it pushes some smoke as well. I had never paid much attention to this before but I dont think it used to smoke like that before, even in stock form.

3)I have not yet installed the boost elbow, will this help the smoke calm down a bit? The instructions say it is not necessary then why do they include it?

Thanks for the info in advance, the bug has now got a good bite of me.

YES, install the elbow. If you have a manual (sorry didnt look). I didnt install mine and my truck seemed to fall flat on top end power, then I installed the elbow and WOW. Big difference. Plus it ads boost which aids in cooling your EGT's. Not sure why they would say you didnt need to except that you really dont NEED to, I guess. I mean it still runs without it. Just not as good.

Hey HolyCrack, is your truck stock and if so does your tranny slip or anything with the edge?

Cumminsdude the only mod other than the EZ are 285/75R16 BF Goodrich All Terrian tires (is there any other kind) and as my profile states my truck is a H.O. 6 speed and no I have never slipped the clutch. I also have a drop in K&N.

Re:Power Edge EZ

My work truck is an H.O., and It smokes a little with no box on it. I really didn't notice it until i was driving down a white dirt road and saw the smoke in the mirror. I've got a Edge EZ on my personal non-H.O. truck, and i put the box on the HO for a couple of days, it smoked alot more, but that's normal. Although it didn't smoke as much as my non-HO truck. Took the box off, and it went back to it's normal little bit of smoke. I wouldn't worry about it. Install the elbow, it won't change the ammount of smoke, but it will give you more boost and lower temp. IF you want to have less smoke, take out the screws on the front of the box, and move the jumper down to 2 or 1. It should be set on 3 from the factory. This will give you less smoke, but less power than 3 too.
Hey Cumminspude its holycack!

I hear what erics76 is saying and I also just talked to Edge products and they told me exactly how it worked. Moving the pin unless you have bigger injectors will not give you anything you want. You will get less fueling untill a higher boost level which for your situation means slower response and less power. Its only there to compensate for the extra fuel big injectors give.
