Re:Power BRaking

My 99 with a diablo power puck could do it no problems at all I could burn the tires right off if I wanted to. My daulie however with posi has never done it unless the pavement is right.

Re:Power BRaking

I got the power to break em loose in 2nd .....but there's no whell speed .........

can't quite figure out a 3rd gear start ..........if I rev her up and dump the clutch about 2 grand it'll leave 2 100 ft strips of black on the pavement but there's no tire smoke, it's just spinning barley enough to leave some rubber on the ground

sure lays you back in the seat though

Re:Power BRaking

It is pretty easy to do it with a standard.... You just bring up the RPM's to about 3000. Dump the clutch (2nd gear with my 5-spd cummins) Once it starts to go, take your foot from the clutch to the brake... Give it a quick tap, this stops the truck, but dosnt allow the tires to stop spinning. Then ease off the brake just like with an auto. See the pic, That is my baby, 2002 3500, 5-speed and an EZ. I didnt get too carried away in this picture like it did with the Powerstroke. The truck only had around 500 miles on it at the time.

Re:Power BRaking

I can't hold mine back on dry pavement. I have to be very careful. My wife refuses to ride with me ;D If I hold the break to 10lbs of boost I will put 300' of posi. just driving arround if I step on it to hard I will break loose. 8) I realy like the 2nd gear shift and the sound of the wheel spin breaking loose. My dad's bone stock 6.5L turbo diesel Chevy with 33's and 4.10's and auto can do it no prob. Maybe the 3.54 gears are the problem. To high a gear.
[/quote]
In the excursion I have 3.73 but also running 33" tires, raised my gear ratio. :'( Bigblue You mean to lower your gear ratio.

Re:Power BRaking

Numerically lower. Numerically higher would be a low gear. Like the stangs 4.10. Low gear, but numerically higher.

Re:Power BRaking

It will work with A.B.S. All line lock does is block off the rear brakes when the button is pressed. So when you hit the brakes, no line pressure goes to the rear.

Re:Power BRaking

I fully understand how a line lock works ;D
However- If you have the front brakes being held and the rears are spinning wildly- won't your brake system go into an anti skid senario... i.e start pulsating?

Re:Power BRaking

No, the power break works well with A.B.S. There is no problem at all. I do have 4 wheel A.B.S. OF

Re:Power BRaking

I have ATS 10% injectors, Edge EZ, 3.54 gears, new Michelin XPS traction tires and it'll light 'em and spin through second no problem. The problem is that I see dollar $ign$ in the tire smoke
Re:Power BRaking

If that was true about the brakes pulsating, how would you do a brake stand anyway?
