Powdercoating Exhaust Tip Black?

Could I take a polished chrome exhaust tip and powdercoat it black?

A) Would the powdercoat stick and last/not discolor at that high of heat?

B) If it did work would it look worth a dang?

I've seen black stacks, anybody got a black tip?

I have a sport truck with black powdercoated RanchHand replacements,debadged,anti-chrome.

You can check out Duplicolor.com, it is not powder coating, but they have paint for every type of finish there is. I have seen a bunch of adds for there products lately and i checked out there website. They got some pretty neat stuff on the site, just a thought.

How hot (approximately) is the exhaust as it exits the tailpipe?

That coating on your manifold which I assume is the high temp. coating is a lot duller (more dull?) than the powdercoat on the RanchHand bumpers.

the shine may go away quicker but mine has been nice and glossy black for about 2 months now...mine is a stack tho....
it reads 200* at the bottom where it comes through the bed and reads 160* at the top...this is after driving and jumping out and shooting it with a laser thermometer...
you would have to have the chrome finish sandblasted off before it could be p-coated

I might do mine in black after all. It's got soot all over the end a half hour after cleaning.
