Please tell me I dont need a VP-44

Well today I was on my way home from PA to Ct and I started to go up a hill and pushed the go pedal and nothing. No smoke, revs, nothing. It did it a few more times on the way. Then it seemed to run fine the rest of the way home. I just pulled the codes hoping to find none and I got P0500, P01693, and the best one of all P0216. Does this sound like the pump and if so where can I get the cheapest and how long will this one last. Thanks for the help

Thats not what I wanted to hear. Where should I get a pump. Is this why I have only been getting 12-15mpg for a while. Is the blue chip worth it and will I see any more power, mpg. Thanks for the help

sorry to say it but definetly an IP. My first one did the same thing and I put a couple thousand miles on it like that. I would just let out of it for a sec then it would go again. I would just shop around. an SO VP44 can be had for just around $1k

I would definetly go for a reliable manufacturer rather than cheap. You should be able to get a good one for $1100-$1300.

I feel for you!
I would call the place that offers cheaper pumps. I did, and confirmed they are a Bosch certified distributor, so I bought from them (saved about $150) and the pump has been fine for the last year. If the shop is Bosch approved, their rebuilds are the same as any more expensive ones.

Is there anything special about the blue chip. I hear they are the best and I just want the best chance that I wont need to shell out over 1000 on this again. I want to try the 100k war. because I only have 76k on the clock but the wire is tapped so I dont think that will work

sourceauto.com has a pump for 1250 and is warrantied even if you tap the wire.

Certain places will warranty them with a wiretap. You can always do a stealth cover instead of tapping the wire too, but I did hear that some reman shops are rearranging the electronics to prevent it. I dont know if it's true or not but It could be.
