please help...eyes and head hurting from reading about LP, PP, and VP psi and such..
have read every post on here about this stuff and i'm still in the dark on what to do...
1) just add a carter 4600
2) move stock lp
3) get rid of the lp and put a 4601hp or a holley blue
4) #3 plus do 1/2 fuel lines
5) #1 plus banjo blots
i really need some help the more i read the less i understand what to do...
the truck right now has a comp 5x5 , 275's , 5" ext. , and water/meth which i dont use till i do something about fuel system... the truck made 370 without water/meth...i plan on putting in some dd2's or dd3's

Well, final judgement is not yet out for what should be the "best" fuel system.
Basically it should supply 15 psi at the injection pump inlet anytime. (idle to WOT)
I, for myself have a holley blue at the fuel tank, 10mm rubber lines to the fuel filter and a Wildcat MaxFlow from there on. Had to tweak the spring in the Holley a bit to have the 15 psi.
As long as your system does that you'll be happy because your injection pump will be happy too.

It sounds like you are planning on continuing to increase your horsepower. I would jump right into the FASS fuel system from www.wildcat.com. Several have been very happy with it. It's not cheap, but it sounds like it is a permanent fix to fuel problems especially for the big horsepower guys.

I am not very happy w/the Holley, psi has started declineing in the last couple weeks, used to be 15-13 at idle or cruising, and around 10 WOT. It now is at 12 psi idle 11 at cruise, and 9 at WOT. I have noticed that when cruising, it will jump from 11 to 13 psi. Doesn't make sense, at idle, never even comes close to the 13, but running down the road at 2000rpm, it will go from 11 to 13.
When this pump dies, I think I will put in a Holley red at the tank, and put a stock Carter back in the stock location.

gamiller: Look into the fuel pressure regulator on the holley - if it sticks you'll have the said results. Maybe you'll also need to shim the spring to get to 15 psi again.

My custom fuel system has never failed me on my 99 Ram with 500hp.
Infact, I still run the same factory lift pump and VP44.
I maintain about 15psi @ idle and 7-8 WOT.
I use modified banjo bolts ($25 for drill bit set) and I already had the drill.
As far as the new truck goes, I am probably going to go with a FASS or AIR DOG.
Just cant decide!!
