A-Pillar pod
I need to know how to prep it before paint.I got the factory paint in a spray can.The last one I did I didn't do anything but wipe it off with a dry rag and paint it.And it turned out pretty good. But what are ya'll doing before paint?I have heard of cleaning it with laquer thinner? Also, how are the full pillar pods supposed to mount?Do you take the old one off or leave it?And can you secure it without screws like the original?Or does it have to screw down? Thanks for the help.

I lightly sanded my gauge pod and then shot on a few thin coats, more light sanding, shot a few final coats then a clear coat. I epoxied the gauge pod to the factory pillar... this required holes to be drilled into the factory pillar for the wiring and tubing...

Just Spray it. Put on two to three light coats until it looks SLIGHTLY damp. Let it dry, then put it on using 3M double sided tape or velcro. It will never come off until you want it to and then you dont have to drill any holes. I've done several like this and have no reported problems for well over 100kmiles.

I just shot the paint. I did make sure that I didn't handle the pillar with my hands because of natural oils in the skin.
Just apply two to three light coats. No Problem.
