Re:Pillar mount question(s)

I ordered the full pillar that goes over the existing one. I don't think anyone makes a full replacement one, just one that goes over the stock one. I used double sided foam tape to stick mine on. It is real nice. It took me about 3 hours to do my gauge install. That includes ripping the other gauges out and installing and running the wiring on the new ones. The first time I ran the wires I had WAY to much extra just laying all over the engine. So I redid it with a lot less wire and it looks much better. That took me about 1 1/2 hours. Gauges are very easy to install and don't take anytime. Just take your time and make it look good and you will be a lot happier with em when you are finished. I don't have a pic of my new set up but here is one of my old setup.

Re:Pillar mount question(s)

THanks for the input. How much of a boost gauge should I get? 0 to 30 or 0 to 60? Plan on some type of computer down the road. Edge EZ

KC

Re:Pillar mount question(s)

KC,

An old racers trick: Figure out what your max reading is going to be, and choose a gauge where your max reading is approximately 2/3s of the gauge's max reading. For example, with your EZ, you'll looking at about a maximum of 32 lbs of boost, so you'll want a 47lb gauge. Closest one would be 50 PSI or if the manufacturer that you choose doesn't have a 50 lb gauge, then step up to 60 PSI.

Also keep in mind how easy it is, and addicting it is, to turn these trucks up. Building 40 lbs of boost is pretty easy (Comp and Stage 2s), so you may want to look at a 60 PSI gauge anyway...

Rod
