Pillar Gauge Pod--Blind Spot?

Researching Gauge Pods...

somewhere read that A Pillar Pods cause some kind of blind spot
or vision obstruction?

Interested in a dash mount but they look like they stick up a little high?

would appreciate your experience...

I don't find the pillar pod to be that big of a deal for the blind spot however I find the dash pod in my buddies truck easier to read the gauges while keeping your eyes on the road, if that make sense....
With the pillar pod its a little more distracting to scan all the gauges.

Yeah, I'd really prefer a dash mount for that reason..
Just can't tell from the pictures how high they are...if they
are too distracting.

thanks for the info about the pillar pods...i found a whole thread
on that subject on another forum but never read about it here...

I've driven a couple with pillar pods and I feel they do increase the blind spot substantially. The blind spot is plenty wide to begin with and they just make it worse. Personally, I hate 'em and wouldn't have it on my rig. JMHO.

My windshield has a black line which is more of a blind spot than my triple pillar. I have no idea what you guys are talking about having a bad blindspot... I also have the window wind shade things and those are a big addition to the factory blindspot. If I just had gauges it would be no different.

It isn't a whole lot worse then the factory pillar. It definatly does block abit more but you get used to it really quick. Im glad I put mine there.

The giant pillars already block out half the town so one more street won't hurt.

I find the triple pod blocks a lil more view than just the dual pod. I have the dual on my 2500 and the triple on my 3500,, after driving them both for awhile i dont really notice any difference

I have a 3 gauge a pillar and the dark rain caps and my blind spot is huge. I thought it would be a problem but you adjust.

I like them on the pillar, easy to see eye level when looking down the road.

These trucks have a terrible blind spot from the factory IMHO. I had a triple gauge mount and just got used to looking around the pillar. Now, I have the attitude monitor for the Edge on the pillar and it creates the same blind spot. I much prefer the pillar location vs. the alternatives.

I agree that the factory blind spot is bad, at least were I sit. My triple pod didn't increase the blindspot substantially. I had to move my head before, now I just move it a little farther.
The only thing that bothered me initially was that they were too bright and obscured my night vision. Fixed that with adding another sleeve over it. Now it is slightly dimmer than my dash and isn't a problem.

Like was said, they don't add much to the already big blind spot. I go from my truck with the triple to my sisters truck with no gauges, and it really isn't much difference. Hers still has a big blind spot in it. Nature of the beast.
