Pics of my truck with Pro-Comp 315's
I promised these pics a month ago. I just don't think about taking pictures very often.
I bought the Pro-Comp AT's because I found them on eBay for $550 with free shipping. A week after I got mine a buddy wanted a set but the seller raised the price to $749. I have been running 285's for the past 7 years.
I'm happy with the looks of them, but they don't ride as well as 285's. I've had them spun balanced twice, bought 4 new Rancho shock and steering stabilizer but it's still not like the 285's were. Either I'm getting used to it or the ride has improved since I have a few thousand miles on them.
Funny how the tires looked so big when I first put them on, now they don't.
I used a front 2" inch leveling kit to fit them. Also had to remove the Dodge mud flaps that didn't do much anyway.
With a 5 speed and the low gears the 315's geared the truck well. I love how it pulls now, before it was geared too low even with 285's. Hard to understand why Dodge put 245's on it new. Fuel mileage has gone up a little bit, maybe one mile per gallon. Out on the open highway...with the Smarty on #9 it will really fly. I had a powerstroke try to run with me, he failed or ran out of *****.
Speaking of the Smarty: I bought it last winter, now with the warm weather or the "summer fuel" my truck is really smoking on a hard take off. Last week, not meaning to, I left a cloud so thick that it had a shadow! I guess I better turn it down some now.
Here's a few pictures.

what rims are those? i too am runing a 4:10 rear and from what i hear a 315 tire should put us at a 3:55 ratio. what rpm's are you turning at 70? while i do think bigger tires look nice on trucks, im only looking to go with 315's for the reduction in rpm's and the slight increase in fuel mileage.

Big Dblue,
I don't have a clue on the mileage I will get. I do know that in the past I have always bought "mud tires" that only got about 15,000 miles or less. The Pro-Comp AT's are suppose to run 50,000 or so on a "normal" truck with a "normal" driver. Our trucks are hard on tires and so am I. So with that said...if these get me 30,000 I will be very happy.
caper,
Thanks, yes black is nice when clean, but it's never clean for long.
Digital Bullet,
Thanks again! Exhaust is on the list. But I won't be going 5". Right now I am running stock pipes with no muffler. I love how it sounds. A buddy has a straight no muffler 4" system and I don't care for the way it sounds, hurts my ears on the open road. I think I'll go with a 4", no muffler but I will run a resonator to knock down that ear hurting highway droan some.
can17,
Thank you.
Can't remember who made the leveling kit, bought on eBay. It's the kit that goes above the coil springs. Cost was $100 with shipping. Not the best way to go but it works.
tx_2500,
The wheels...not sure who made them. The centers that came with them and rusted had the brand on them. It may have been Devon???
I'll have to take note of the RPM's at 70MPH on my way home from work today.
Buckshotram,
Thank you.

so all a 4x4 ram need's to run 35's is a 2" leveling kit in the front? Ur truck looks great, I want 35's more for the gearing so I can run highway speeds like 3.55's do. But i'm sure it would look great like it does on urs.

Are those just Pro Comp All-terrains or extreme all-terrains?
Can you please tell me what's the speed rating of those tires? No one ever mention that.
And I just bought seven brand new 37x12.5 17 Pro Comp Extreme A/T's from another country and never even seen Pro Comp tires...

Box5,
Yes, raise the front 2" and you're good to go. Mine will rub the plastic inner fender liner on a full turn in some situations. All is fine on the flat though.
Erska,
The tires are AT not the XtremeAT. I heard the XAT's don't get as good of milage. BUT, I do like the looks of the XtremeAT's. I don't know the speed rating.
