That's so funny that you said that. I don't know who makes it, but I just took it off this past weekend. Feel free to send me a PM if you want it.

It was on the truck when I bought it, and I have no intentions of mounting lights on it, so I finally got off my butt and took it off.

I've been on a tire hunt for a few months and still haven't decided.

My '99 came with 245's, I removed them quick and have been running 285/75/16 tires ever since. Due to my apparent affliction with large knobby mud tires I have been getting about 15,000 from a set. Just burned up an expensive set of Cooper STT's in 15,000 miles. I am done with that and looking for a AT this time. Been looking at the Goodyear Silent Armor with a 50,000 tread wear warranty. Firestone Destination AT and a few others but don't really like any. I want a AT tire with a modern road tire tread with those cool rain grooves. I am only planning on running this set in the warm months. Falken makes one, rated at 3,305# and in a LT285/75/16 size. BUT a tire made in Japan on my truck...I don't think so.

Also like the Geolander H/T-S.

Like the looks of the TOYO Open Country A/T, BUT...a problem there.
Can't have a tire that almost says TOYOTA. TOYO AT...too close. NO offense to anyone that has them, I'm just weird like that.

I also wanted to point out just how close the 285/75, 295/75 and the 305/70 tires are in size. Hardly noticeable to the eye. I was dead set on 305/70's this time but now I'll take a tire I can live with in any of these sizes.

-----------------285/75........295/75..........305/70
Sidewall Height:....8.42...........8.71..............8.41
Section Width:.....11.22..........11.61............12.01
Overall Diameter: 32.83..........33.42............32.81
Circumference:....103.14........105.00...........103.08
Revs per mile:......633.57........622.38...........633.95

I really thought I wanted a 295 because it is a little more narrow than a 315, but the more I look, I think I will just get the 315's. I found some tires called Trailcutter Radial RT's made by Cooper from a web based tire dealer in Nebraska for $535 with free shipping. Aggiephil has them and says he is having good luck with them.

I have 285/75/16 BFG AT "D"and they have been wearing well, when it's time for new I will look seriously at the BFG AT "E" range in the same size.

Have you looked into the Bridgestone Dueler Revo's? They have the cool rain grooves like the goleanders but last a lot longer and have awesome rain and ice traction. Plus the Revo's technology is supposed to maintain the same traction throughout the tires life, unlike most tires that lose traction as they wear down. I haven't tried a set on a heavy truck like ours but they do really well on my wifes Xterra.

They are D's , #3195 lb rating. The 295's are D's but rated for #3415 lb each. Here is a link with info and pictures but this is from a different dealer at a higher price.

Those look exactly like the Mud Terrain SXT tires that I have on my truck made by Dean tires, which I believe is a division of Cooper. I have 30k on them and they still look like I could get another 10k out of them.
