62/14 is what the use for the twins. Mine is in the mail. I did ALOT of research in past posts. I'm sure others will chime in from experience but from what I've read 62/14 will spool quick, rated for 500+ HP, and you can upgrade to twins. Just my .02

if you can swing the extra cash for the sps over the regular ps it will be a better turbo overall. the sps with the 71mm (low drine pressure)turbine wheel will cool better then the 65mm turbine wheel in the ps. my first turbo was a sps62 and it was one of the best turbos i ever had, it ran cooler than the 64/14/65 i traded it for.

I run a Phat Shaft 62/14 now with DDP4s. It just cant do the job.
Either go with a SPS62 a Silver 62.
What I did was call Industrial Injection and talked to Brady.
I went with his recommendation.
SILVER BULLET 64!!

I don't mean to hijack the thread here, but I'm getting my custom EDM'd 6x.009 sticks back from I. I. on Monday and also plan on getting a 3 piece manifold and a turbo... Lag doesn't bother me; so long as it's quicker than my HX40 w/16cm housing. So I was thinking 62 71 14 for my setup... Think it will spool quicker and stay cooler while towing?

Also,
If you are running a 64/65/14 Phat Shaft, your compressor and turbine wheel are to close to size. Thats probably why it takes longer for it to spool with all the extra fuel.
Not really sure about it, this is just going from what I have read and talked about with Brady.

In twin turbo configuration, the 62/65/14 will be better for 90% of the trucks out there. The 62/71/14 is used in high HP twin turbo setups, like 650+HP.
Just look at the BD towing twins, good for 550 HP, the fuel only limit of most VP powered trucks anyway. BD twins have a 57/65/14 top turbo. The 62/65/14 from II or HTT will flow enough air in a twin turbo setup for more HP than our VP44 trucks can make. If twins are in your future, you have no business buying a 71mm turbine wheeled turbo.
IF you want a good performing single turbo, however, the 71 wheel will be just what the doctor ordered for your "diesel hotrod".
I think that potential 5-10 HP gain you might achieve with a 71mm vs 65mm in a VP powered twin turbo setup is not worth the increased lag, lower useability, and decreased street manners that come with a bigger turbine wheeled turbo. **This is not the case for a 71mm in a single setup**

this is what you get with the ps62/65/14 with 100hp injectors and edge comp on 5x5 this is a short run but on a long run like 1/2 mile or so you would see 1400deg's

the take off is just mash the pedal and go so you could see the amount of lag.
then I slowed to 45mph and lugged it a bit
