Performance Mods Guidance Needed

Performance Mods Guidance Needed
I bought my cummings about a year and a half ago and was just looking for some guidance for mods and performance add-ons. Any advice is welcome and my truck is described in my sig below. I am planning on adding fender flares and transforming the center seat/console to a seat/console/speaker box for a 10" so any help with those would be great also. Thanks in advance and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading up on these posts as often as possible.

Hello
Same rule as always, start with gauges as they are the most important. You didn't mention whether you have an auto or not. Either way, after gauges, you can always add an edge box. It's an easy start.

The best way to start is to budget yourself, both in $$ and in HP..
Decide what you want to build and go from there. If you want a sled pulling beast, it will be a different set of modifications versus a Drag racer. Similarly if you just are wanting a little more for the hills with the 5'er.
Once you decide on a target HP and the application, choosing the modifications becomes less of an endevour and more of balancing with what you want to spend.
I hope that helps..

I really don't know how much I need. I pull a gooseneck stock trailer every now and then to trail ride horses, but mainly I just want more umph! I have a buddy that put a Edge Pro Comp on his 2000 3500 dually and loves it but i don't know if that is the right way for me either. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks so far

Start with intake and exhaust, then gauges, then a Edge Comp box, then a better clutch, then injectors, then bigger turbo. Put you around 400 rwh and 800 torque. Any time you need to replace a part, don't buy stock get a better aftermarket part.

Firefighter, I have same tranny and just wanted to add enough to get me near
what a new truck would have without a lot of mods. I did gauges, 4" exhaust,
AFE intake, Edge ez. That increased my speed over the 6 percent mountains
here in Oregon from 40 mph to 50 mph with 11,000 lb 5th wheel. I could have
stopped there but added 275 rv injectors. I have not had to replace clutch yet
(knock on wood) and have not had a slippage problem. I drive it easily and am
careful on upshifts. No powershifts for sure.
I have not seen any increase in fuel mileage as some report but has not gone down
either.
