performance cut with 35's??
#16
Agreed. My truck used to stop on a dime with the 33's. But not with the 35's. I noticed a slight performance decrease. I need a little more skinny pedal before I get moving. Cruising down the highway is awesome though. With the 3.54 gears and 35's, I'm sitting right at 1850-1900. Perfect for mileage and no drone from my exhaust. Makes long trips nice and easy.

I went from 35" PJs to 36" Pjs, which are actually closer to a 37" BFG in height. I love the PJs and they do not rub unless going through a dip and turning, BUT, I am being hassled by the police so bad I am contemplating taking them off and going back to a 12.50 wide. I paid an $80 fine to the fine city of Murray today for my tires, and less than 10 minutes and 1 stop later I was pulled over again by the same municipality for the same infraction. I have a receipt for the fender flares and mudflaps I ordered 3 weeks ago. They are backordered and I really do not wish to install them anyway. Nonetheless I had to show my receipt, carbon of the check and the original citation to keep from getting a second ticket. I was then informed by ocifer friendly that my body lift was illegal. I informed the policeman I did not have a body lift and he pointed to the FACTORY spacers between the frame and the bed saying I had to remove them. I had to crawl under my truck and show him the factory overspray on them to convince him they were in fact OEM. My point is wide tires look good, but it is no longer worth the brain damage. I have about 5K on these tires and if anybody wants them email me. As far as offsets are concerned on aftermarket wheels, they vary and can stick way out or be stuck underneath the truck. A happy medium is usually the most appealing, and wide wheels are very hard on the ball joints. A leveling kit and 315s are probably the safest and most economical way to go. Sorry for the long post and good luck. LE

I have yet to get hassled for mine, although I did have my flares put on the same day as my lift,
but ran without mudlfaps for a year.
You and rjordan (from paragonah) are the only ones that seem to have a problem with Utah police.
He took his lift off, and went back to much smaller tires.
I'd hate to see another lifted Dodge owner have to go through that.

I assume all you guys posting in this thread have 4x4 trucks. I am putting in the 2wd drive version of the leveling kit soon. Do ya'll think I could run the 315 up front w/this 1 1/2 inch lift?

We have some peculiar lift laws here.
You have to have flares if the tires stick out past a certain point.
You have to have mudflaps that cover so much of the tire, and hang down so far.
Maximum Lift = Wheelbase x Wheel Track divided by 2200
Here's the actual legaleze:
http://www.le.state.ut.us/~2001/bill...enr/HB0049.htm
It covers both lifted trucks and lowered trucks.
Also the method of lift/lowering is specified, something about no shackle lifts, not sure on body lift, but if LE was called on it, it must be in there.

Here in TX, I've never heard of laws about the lift size, as long as your headlights are below 36". There are over a dozen HUGE trucks here in the College Station area and I have yet to see one of them pulled over. I guess it just depends on the local yocal cop who is looking for some more $ for his area.

Are you sure it's 36"? I just measured my head lights and they are sitting right at 36". I thought it was more like 48" or so? Oh well. There's a ford up here that has headlights mounted in his bumper because the truck is so high.
