There are others out there, the ATS unit is a package of the VB and the controller/software. I will have to try to remember who else makes a controller. I know that there are at least 2 others on the market.

ok in all seriousness
I gotta question

how much more of a headache would it be just to put a 48re?

does anyone even make an adpater to mate it to my BorgWarner 1356 transfer case?

Thanks for all the help
Tanner

Any T case that will bolt up to the 47 RE will bolt to the 48RE.

k
so does the NV4500 and 47re have the same bolt pattern to the T Case?

I have an adpater from Advance adapters right now

how well will a 48re stock with a aftermarket TC and HD valve body hold

maybe that will get me by till a complete Overhaul?

I cannot asnwer the 4500-to auto t-case question, but
The 48RE is a better transmission than the 47. It has more cluthces in the clutch packs, and six pinion planets as opposed to the 5 in the 47- to hold more torque and HP. Give Dave Goerend a call, he has a great billet triple disk converter and a really nice VB that shifts very nicely but will NOT rattle your teeth. 563-778-2719. Tell him Phil sent you.
