pac brake wireing
i read about wireing my pac brake to the "20 pin" connector and that it will then work with my crusie. i have micro switches on my throttle and clutch that work fine but would like it to work with my cruise. could you tell me where this 20 pin is and if this info is accurate? tia

The #20 pin is in the big plastic wire connector behind the fuel filter housing. Take the two bolts off the top of the housing holding it to the engine and let it sit off to the side. You should see a large amount of wires going to a big connector that has a bolt head in the middle of it (I'm pretty sure, been a long time since I was messing with it). Remove the bolt head and pull the connector away. You will see the numbers indicating the wire holes. One of them (I think to the right side) is empty with a #20. Actually it isnt empty, it has a plastic plug in it. You have to take something small and poke it out or the exhaust brake wire wont fit. This is why you have to remove it from the engine. Push your wire in ALL THE WAY and put the connector back. Hope this helps.

I dont really know anything about the micro switches so I cant help you there. Best bet would be to call PacBrake. They are very nice and helpful.

FYI: Using pin-20 of the ECM connector DOES NOT allow the brake to work with the cruise control. When the cruise control is activated, the brake will not work.

once you do hook up that #20 wire , you still have to go into the ECM and change the parameter so that the Exh. brake will work and then also so the exh. brake will work with cruise control on .

with the 3rd gen. truck you have to take it to a knowledgable Dodge dealer with a mech that know what he is doing , with the 2 nd gen you can take it to any Cummins dealer and have them do it with the insite program , Cummins cant communicate with the new gen trucks with insite , and from what I read here there are some dodge dealer that have no clue to what they are doing yet. also I dont believe that the pac brake is approved by Dodge Cummins , and if your dealer say they are , get it in writing for sure. I remember seeing a note saying Jake is the only approve exh brake for the new gen trucks. as far as warranty goes .
