P1693 and loss of power-boost
My truck is funked up...
I have a code P1693 and it is running lazy...
My boost pressure runs up to 40 then climbs up to 48 and back down to 40. It doesn't seem to matter much if I change my settings from 3.1 to 4.5 or 5.5 on my comp whereas it used to rocket with each change.
The code:
DTC Detected In Companion Module
DTC Detected In PCM/ECM
Is the only code I have and I have tried disconnecting my battery 4 times and restarting the truck repeatedly. No clear!
I have also hooked up a different comp box and even changed out the comp wire harness.
Any help would be appreciated....
James

Check your pump wire connection. Mine reacted similarly when I did not have a good connection. The code eventually went away, I don't remember how long it took though.

Pump wire connection.... As in the comp wire piercing? If so I took it off and reinstalled it when I installed a different computer harness.

Yes. On mine I was using a Blue Chip cover and being careful not to over tighten and didn't get a good conection. Under normal driving no problem, under WOT it pould pull hard, then stumble, and then pull hard again repeatedly until you let off of the peddle then the CEL came on.

Re:P1693 and loss of power-boost
Well Thanks Guys!!!! I went out and re-pierced the pump wire in a different spot instead of just removing and re-installing the pierce with a new connector like before and
Test run... 60 psi boost and laziness gone! I also restarted the engine several times after returning home and the CEL is now off.
I was getting really frustrated with this one and your insight helped me through it.... Thanks again!
